Steve jobs did not give us:

the first pc - IBM in 1975, apple didnt release a PC untill 1977
pixar - founded as the graphics group under lucasfilms, thank you george lucas
pc mouse - thank douglas engelbart, not jobs
music labels to agree? meh, even if he did just more money for everyone, he made the wallmart of online music... congrats? however millions of songs are not available on itunes
the last point is totally subjective and can in no way be measured

>Be me on October 5th, 2011
>Always hated apple and their greedy ******* company policies
>Finally decide to get my ****** iPod fixed
>Step foot in an apple store for the first time in my life (ordered the ipod online)
>Stupid teenage girls and mid-life crisis men browsing on ****** overpriced laptops
>Ask guy behind desk if I can repair ipod
>Of course I can't, offers to sell me a new one instead
>Say **** this place and leave, cursing the stupid franchise on my way out
>Driving home the radio tells me 'ol Stevey Jobs was confirmed dead about 15 mins before
>MFW I walked into an apple store for the first time and Steve Jobs died

If this was truly an unpopular opinion, it would have said the exact opposite. Many people on FJ dislike him as well and that is fairly common knowledge.

He was not the innovator he claimed to be, but I have tremendous respect for him as a businessman. He created a demand where there wasn't one and now the iphone is the Call of Duty of smartphones. Credit where it's due.

Why are you faggots still bitching about him?

I think he was a hipster cunt that took credit for other work. Not just any "others" work, it was his ******* friends work that he took credit for. **** this greedy hipster cunt, Bill Gates deserves a movie about him more than Jobs did.
The man donates 8 billion to the AIDS charity and many other charities I believe, and still believes that he doesn't pay enough in taxes each year. On top of that, the man is a genius because if I'm right, Bill designed the very first Microsoft Windows PC himself. I'm unsure if he had help or not but he's taking credit for his OWN work.

I think calling him a massive greedy asshole is a bit below the belt. He gave millions to charity and he kept it a secret since he didn't want to make it seem like a PR stunt, he wasn't really an asshole in that regard.

That was his wife. And Bill Gates donated TENS OF BILLIONS to charity.
User avatar #29 - roflstorm (12/05/2013) [-]
As does everyone.
What's your point?

Steve Jobs was treated like a god by apple users, always obsessing over him. As soon as he passed, many true apple fans began hiding in dark corners crying and thinking about life.

Meanwhile, Bill Gates donates around $1 billion plus to charity and more money to help cure diseases and when he dies, not as many people will care.

And Steve Jobs sold a lot of his products for a **** ton of money. Not saying Bill Gates didn't but I like Bill beter

Because he was.
#40 - anonymous (12/05/2013) [+] (4 replies)
I assume you knew him personally? I'm sure you think he did everything for money, not to improve the world in any way, right? Do you know how many lives Apple changed over the course of his lifetime? How many co-workers, friends, and family adored him and were heartbroken when he passed, including his own children?

Don't be an asshole, the guy wasn't hitler. He did have an ego, but so does everybody in that position. I'm sure Bill Gates has had his ugly moments as well.

**** everybody who thumbed this up, and bandwagon red thumb me to boot, sometimes human decency should overcome the fact that you think a product a company sells is overpriced, but I guess that has failed.

Do you know how many 7 year-olds in China had to work 80 hours in a week to make the iPhone a reality?
#80 - sometimeswefuck (12/05/2013) [+] (5 replies)
he was. but because he died he magically became a "hero"

dont you know the rules by now? if ANYONE famous dies, even though people probably hated their guts before, they become a hero. anyone

refer to Paul Walker, MJ, Amanda Todd, Marilyn Monroe, AMY WINEHOUSE THE ****** UP CRACK WHORE

You can say that, but I'm sure as hell he's pretty creative.

So was Rockefellar but he also basically made the US into a world economic superpower.

Jobs made computers affordable. He was one of the engineers of the computer revolution. He is one of the reasons you can even make this. He may be a greedy asshole but god damn he is still a great man.
