I really, really want to get into snowboarding. The only downside is, I live in .N.E. England, and the closest mountains to me is the Pennines, and whenever they have snow on them, it's hardly anything. And I'm too poor to go abroad :I

try going on a uni ski trip... they can get packages for lik a 10 day trip for 200 quid to places in french alps which is really good value... the only expensive part is paying fr drinks

Try the indoor snow slope at Xscape in Yorkshire. They do snowboarding and skiing there.

i fucking hate snowboarders.. one because theyre always either really good or really bad, and 90 percent are the bad ones that get in the way and ruin the snow, second because i could pick up snowboarding in a fucking day, because i longboard so much

Snowboarding is much different than longboarding. I do both, and they work entirely different muscles, have entirely different techniques, and the only way they're similar is that they consist of riding a board down a hill.
I do agree with you on the bad snowboarders part, there are way too many ten year olds who think they're awesome for snowboarding that are going down the mountain sliding on their asses.

I had bad luck, It was no problem where there was snow, but I came to a section with pure ice, which would be no biggie on skis, but as a noob on snowboard I failed miserably and managed to trebuchet myself backwards when I tried to stop
