I have done this same thing but in the rain. I was going 65 MPH and merging onto another freeway. The traffic in front of me stopped abruptly and I looked into my rear view mirror and saw an older Honda coming at me with it's wheels turned all the way, but still sliding straight towards me. I hit the gas and got over to the shoulder and the car slid and stopped right where I was stopped.
