if it was lightning hitting a radio tower that would explain the music no longer playing but what about the cellphone no longer working? far as i know radio towers and cell towers are not the same and not in the same places.

For the most part they are the same, because why bother making two towers when you can have two in one.

Perhaps the car here was not close enough to have severe disruptions in electronics. The radio cut out temporarily because it's much more sensitive, given that it plays EM waves converted into sound.
Nevertheless, the video camera should have had much more interference in the second that the lightening jumped.

Wouldn't that fry the car battery too? I'm not really familiar how EMP's work , but I do know that they fry all electronic circuits that are in use.
