You act like atheists are this unified group with one agenda. The only thing that atheists have in common is a lack of belief in a supernatural realm just like the only thing that vegetarians have in common is that they don't eat vegetables. Firstly, that is an incorrect quote and secondly, I do not mean to group together all Christians but unlike atheism, Christianity has a certain philosophical dogma and agenda just like republicans and democrats. For example, all Christians believe in Jesus and the bible and if you don't, you're not a Christian. Atheists are not like that. Being an atheist gives no indication of a person's moral, political or family values. Being a Christian does give an indication of that.

See here's the thing, the Bible are accounts from Jesus, his followers and the such.
I'm sure you love pointing out that every 2 passages, some gu says to kill people who do X.
However, in the 10 commandments, (apparently from God himself although that's very questionable), the 6th says though shalt not kill. This completely goes against what the humans who've written the Bible and edited time and time again.
So here's my question, if God says to not kill and everyone/thing else says to kill, what do I choose?
Furthermore, if some parts of the Bible say to do good and not kill and other parts say to kill those who do X and Y what do you do? The problem is that the Bible is an account of many people who are Christian for many different reasons. Some of these people think differently and would what they say to be the right thing. To agree with the whole Bible would require one to have Multiple Personality Disorder.

The simple answer is that you do not have to kill people and you do not have to follow the bible to do so. People claim that the bible is the divinely inspired word of God but the fact that it is full of contradictions is evidence to the contrary. If the bible was truly written by some all powerful god who spoke through men, he should have been able to come up with a flawless document given that the bible is the sole book with which Christians base their beliefs on. This is an indication that the God of the bible was written by fallible men that weren't under any "divine" inspiration. They were simply men who had no understanding of their surroundings and did the best they could to explain things with their limited understanding. Religion is humanity's first and worst explanation.

I just think that there is some sort of upper being, more like a Greek God whose powerful but still kill-able and has quite the temper, which is enough to be "religious" I guess.

There is no evidence to support that but I am fine with you believing whatever you want once you do not try to use those religious beliefs to have any influence on public policy.

Also, you're saying that not one person every tried to turn their life around after say hearing of Jesus or "seeing" God (however questionable that occurance would be). Nope, only bad.
If religion didn't exist, people would just use some other thing to justify their hatred, of course they're going to use "the one who made us all (lolsillycreationists) and loves us all" as their justification. If there were no religion, they would just say that the aliens told them so.

So if an atheists act douchy then I can't lump them together but if a Christian acts douchy then you're allowed to lump them all together?

we don't all lump people of a certain group together, i have a lack of a belief in a higher power, but i am different than some others that have the same belief as i. We have Islamic extremists who kill people daily, yet not everyone goes down to the local Mosque and persecute Muslims. The westburo baptist church is a very extreme example of hatred by an entire group united by their faith, but i don't see all Christians as i see those bigots. If an Atheist acts douchey, then they are a douche, if a christian acts homophobic then they are a bigot, but just because one person seems bad to others does not give others the right to lump all that align with the one person on their base beliefs.

We have Islamic extremists who kill people daily, and we have reasonable Islamics who don't kill people every day.

Eradicating religion won't stop extremism, people will just turn to another justification, maybe they'll say "LOOK U GUIZ DA BLUE EYES HAVE BIGGER BRAINS THE OTHER COLOR EYES ARE BAD LES KILL DEM".
