Suicide Forrest
The Aokigahara Forest is the most popular site for suicides in Japan. After the novel Kuroi Jukai was published, in which a young lover commits suicide in the forest, people started taking their own lives there at a rate of 50 to 100 deaths a year. The site holds so many bodies that the Yakuza pays homeless people to sneak into the forest and rob the corpses. I think i remember seeing this article in a copy of Vice i picked up. Very interesting. Beautiful forest.
Isn't it crazy how the corpse was decayed, fully clothed.

I think people kill themselves in such a beautiful forest because it's beautiful. Whether you're a nature lover or not, wouldn't you want the last thing you see before you die to be that beautiful?
