Earthbending in minecraft

This video reminded me that earthbenders can make rocks float, so if one stands on a rock then makes it float, couldn't he/she just use it to fly around the world? Earthbending, the new airbending.

It would require a HUGE amount of effort. You would literally have to be in a state of bending continuously while in the air, combined with your weight on the rock. You'd be exhausted of chi within minutes.

I thought they could just shoot themselves in the general direction they wanted to go. (By earth-bending an angled pillar firing them into the air. Then catch themselves with another pillar but reducing the speed to slop themselves being impaled into the ground)

I'm referring to the OP's method of flight, where an earthbender just stands on a rock and bends it through the air with him. It would be next to impossible to keep that up for more than a few minutes until you're exhausted.

Propelling yourself from the ground with large jumps isn't really flying, it's more extreme acrobatics.

I know, I wasn't trying to say you're wrong about it using up shit tonnes of energy for flying xD I was just pointing out another method of how they could travel in the air without wasting all their chi.

Although the skateboard thing that Toph does it pretty cool, If i could, i'd use that method of travel.

Actually, all Earthbenders need to do to bend is have a firm stance, and some earth to bend. It doesn't matter if said earth is in midair or not.
