1. Eye transplants are not possible. You can transplant the cornea, but not the entire eyeball.
2. You can only get a cornea from a corpse. Taking it from a living person is forbidden by law.
3. If she gave her son her own cornea, people would not have seen this on first sight; It would look mostly like a normal eye, only a little whitened. Thus, noone would react like described in that video.
4. If she gave her son her whole eye (which is impossible), she could have easily found a replacement. Glasseyes are very subtle nowadays.
