Good God! Second person this week to tell me that they met them, I'm so jealous! What I would give to meet John Petrucci. Good god, I would shit rainbows if I shook his hand. Who do you like more Mangini or Portnoy? Personally I liked what portnoy did on previous albums but since this album wasn't all Mangini's drumming it was pre-written I don't have too much of an opinion on it.

Scenes From a Memory \m/. I'm a guitarist, so I really liked Lost not Forgotten and outcry on the new album, but my favorite is easily Breaking all illusions, such a beautiful solo. I think my favorite album was either octavarium or train of thought. Train of thought had that heavyness I loved to it, plus imo petrucci's best soloing (in the name of god and stream of consciousness), and i loved portnoys drumming in octavarium! but scenes from a memory is the shit too, shit they're all damn good! pic related, my face when i heard in the name of god's solo

I want to soo bad, it sucks you didn't get to meet portnoy, but hey you still got the other 4 thats a definite positive, thats so aweosme! I probably would have done some tissue damage with all the cheesing I did if i met them, the only thing comparable to seeing dream theater I've had was being almost front row at a Rush concert...hands down best concert i've ever been to.

I know what you mean, I'm the same way with Petrucci, when I first heard Portnoy left, I was kinda depressed for a little while and then spammed octavarium/train of thought/systematic chaos \ in my room, car, ipod, computer, everything for nearly a month

Dub-step is a sub-category of a music genre it wont go away, and look a very easy way to avoid it, don't listen to it. I hope rap goes away, but it wont it'll always be there, just have to not listen to it and enjoy what is there.

Dubstep is awesome, when it's made correctly
because you can mix it with a lot of genres
and dubstep is not only Megatron furiously masturbating when the drop starts
