... Am I the only one that is still proud to be amerifat, and doesn't believe this horse **** ? It seems everywhere I look a see people ragging on the US, more often than not, Americans too. What the hell? Yes, we have issues. Yes, they are imperfections. Between the stupid bills, idiots in costco size bundles, ever craving thirst for fossil fuel dependent cars, and our fluctuating economy, it can seem a little bleak.

But Jesus Tits, do you even know how lucky you are? You have a roof over your head, a regular supply of food, most likely a family that you know will come home every night. You have an abundance of information, a free education, the opportunity to be who you are, or what you want to be! There are countries that would and have killed to have what each and everyone one of us has! Bills like SOPA will never pass because we cried for it not to! We still speak for ourselves, and will speak what we wish. Our thoughts can be expressed with no repercussion to be feared! Our soldiers are people just like you! Except they believe in our country, and will fight for it. They carry the honor, something you might look down on, or smirk at. But they believe in our country! They believe enough so to risk their flesh for it. They have a cause! And that cause is our freedom to be human!

Every day we take for as a given right, some take as a privilege. I believe it is there that we lost our perspective.

I apologize for the rant. If you made it this far, thanks for reading.

The big problem with america, IMO is, that it tries too hard to be the world's big hero. Almost every war has the USA supporting one side with troops or bombs. It needs to get it's **** toegether, focus on technology, preferable eco-friendly one. So many years have been wasted with war instead of technological advancement. Just focus on your own country, and stop thinking that you have to be the world's big saviour.

Rare to see an amerifat whom admits that he doesn't live in a perfect country. Really, its nice to see. That "we are the perfect country" attitude is the main reason why i hate the US
User avatar #433 to #429 - patchesdacrazy (01/21/2012) [-]
Look at the hell Im catching for it though. Yeah, its not perfect, but I still like my country. I live here, it grows on you. Just like your's does for you. Every country does something stupid, America is no different.
User avatar #435 to #433 - ruinsage (01/21/2012) [-]
well saying america isn't perfect will get you hate from Americans, and defending America is going to get you hate from the rest of the world.. not exactly a win-win eh?...

I don't give a **** mate, i hardly every watch movies and i draw my own conclusions from personal opinions and stuff that i have seen (eg this video) also did you know that since America has been a country they have been at war longer then at peace? That's saying some thing, and a "normal argument" doesn't end up with people agreeing. And the rest of the world is better then america, we have standards.

This country has only been around for less than 300 years. We were born from war. We had to fight to become a country. After that, we had to fight to keep it. After that, we had to fight to save it (and start scrubbing out that racist streak), and finally, when the **** had settled! WWI. Well, I suppose we could have sat that one out, I mean honestly, we could have handled Mexico. And for the German Empire to start a war over seas would have been exhausting for them. BUT as I recall, we stepped in. Totally not our business, but whatever. Willing to help out. Once that's done and over with, we slack off into a slight depression. Okay, a big one. But behold, the Nazi power rises, suddenly people to need weapons, and what do you know, we happen to be industrious. We sell to both sides, bring our economy back up. But we sit out, not our problem. Don't want people thinking we get ourselves in everyone's business. Then Japan gets a little pissed that we cut off their oil. Being a empire on a island, that can be rather severe. They attack, we decide it's time to step in. BEFORE we start an offensive on the Japanese though, we help Europe tackle the Axis forces there. They could use the help. After that mess is cleaned up, we focased on Japan. (before you start on the firebombing, go read my comment about it somewhere here) Now. Cold war. More of a dispute/standoffm though scary for both sides. War though? Mmmm... no. The space race was more exciting. Vietnam, and Korea. Fun topics. I will let you have those. We shouldnt have been there. Wasn't our business. Besides our fear of Communism and our habit of helping people in war, we really didn't need to be there. The middle east situation? Who isn't involved there? You're country more than likely had troops there with ours.

It's not that we love war, we just haven't gotten a break from it yet. Lord knows we need one.

You made me LOL. Don't know where you're from, but it doesn't matter. I actually live here. yeah, we got our share of idiots, but no more than any other place. Ours are just louder. You for example. You didn't help your cause at all. You sound a 14 year old school boy who's only source of information on world politics is MW3. "complete **** tards who would drop a nuke on every living thing"? You're hilarious. No. We dropped two atomic bombs on an enemy. Once. Do you even know why? Do you know why we haven't since then? Do you know what the cold war was? You're one to talk about the dim witted.

Tell me, how many civilians did they kill when they nuked japan? Hmmm, I recall hearing that terrorists are people who kill innocent civilians...... ... The US didn't give a **** about the Japanese . Shows how morally absent they are. Even if they wanted to show power with the nukes, they could have just demonstrated it without killing anyone, like the USSR.

Actually I'm 16 years old you **** and i play COD as a past time. i got 100% on my history exam so suck my dick. You dropped 2 atomic bombs and ****** up a whole country for about 2 generations. Do i know why? because your extrapolating ***** who think you're the greatest power on this earth. Go back to school **** head.

Also I am Australia and proud.
User avatar #487 to #448 - patchesdacrazy (01/22/2012) [-]
Well, lemme give you an example then. I honestly like Australia. But I don't let dumb ***** like you spoil it for me.

16 huh? What a bad ass. 100% on your scores too! Amazing! Why don't you open up your eyes a bit. You really think we all think our nations the greatest? I know for fact mine isn't. Hell, having talked to a bunch of Americans myself, (cause you know, I live here, i get to interact with them) i hear many of them complain about it here. How many have you talked to? Your only 16, were they in person? Nobody but the children here think this place is perfect. They are naive, but they are ******* kids, they can be. ******* talk to some Americans. Not through Omegle, or Facebook. In person. Someone over the age of 16 if you want a less brainwashed answer.

Read some more, look into it. If you look, you'll find the reason for why we bombed. hell, I explained it somewhere on this thread already. GO LOOK. Im ******* tired of arrogant ******** like you. Yeah, the amerifat just called you arrogant. What does that tell you.
#440 to #420 - anonymous (01/21/2012) [-]
See amerifat, your judging this person already after one comment as a 14 year old cod player. Oh and because its just two atomic bombs means that its okay because its three numbers less that what you are able to count ? You have no idea.
User avatar #444 to #440 - patchesdacrazy (01/21/2012) [-]
... I think you're trying to say I cant count... Not sure...

Anyways!

Yep! its amazing how fast you can become agitated when someone starts hammering your country with bull **** like "complete **** tards who would drop a nuke on every living thing". yeah, I got a little defensive, bite me. But your getting on my ass for judging? This prick just labeled everyone in my country dim witted and **** tards. And I'm getting my ass chewed?

Thinking that 2 abomb saved many lives is ******* retard too
US did it show power and moral absence
User avatar #428 to #425 - patchesdacrazy (01/21/2012) [-]
We did it to make a enemy back down after years of fighting. After realizing the devastation of the bombs, we haven't dropped one since. The only reason those bombs were dropped was because the Japanese refused to surrender, and would sooner drag out the fight until they had nothing left. Costing them everything, and the Allies more lives. If we wanted to show power, more would have been dropped. If we wanted to show moral absence, we would have kept fighting, and never dropped the bombs.

Here, why don't you tell me where you're from. I'd love to berate it too. Or you're personality. So far I've gathered you're hot headed, arrogant, and almost aggressive. You are illiterate, haven't got a clue of what you are talking about, and can't form a proper sentence. You're either between the ages of 14-17 or a dumbass, and a very annoying one at that.
#438 to #428 - anonymous (01/21/2012) [-]
Consider the following
1) US did horrible things without abombs [url deleted]
2) USSR drop the abomb on their empty area and film it then show it to US to prove power they got

so why dont US just prove it like this ?

russia 28
User avatar #441 to #438 - patchesdacrazy (01/21/2012) [-]
1) US did. So did the Japapese. So did the Germans, Russians, and just about everyone else that goes into war. It's far from fair, and far from clean. Its war. There's no way to kill others with dignity.

2) Would you seriously call off an all out war because someone showed you a video? The japanese were already geared to take whatever heat we threw at them until they had nothing left. Also, if shown the video, the bomb would have been irrelevant. If the Japanese knew that kind of fire power was coming, there would be heavier resistance and the chances of a successful bomb drop would be greatly reduced.
#449 to #441 - anonymous (01/21/2012) [-]
1) i am talking about Bombing of Tokyo wiki it - it was hell
tanks and army took berlin not a massive ammount of bombs
2) cold war begins after this video, i guess japan could understand the damage abomb brings too
User avatar #486 to #449 - patchesdacrazy (01/22/2012) [-]
War is Hell. The very point of war is to break a nations spirit. You want to win at war, you have to make the enemy believe that no where is safe. Attack them where they feel secure. Make them believe there is no hope but surrender. This isn't just how Americans fight, this is how the world fights. The objective never changes. There's no honor or glory in it. Nor is there a right way to do it.

What? Are you saying the Tokyo Fire bombing was cruel? Of course it is. So is everything in war. But we bombed it because it would work. Their buildings were extremely flammable. Makes fire bombing more effective. Berlin was bombed to hell and back. Muchen had to be almost completely rebuilt after the war. Those cities were over taken with artillery and infantry because troops and armaments could literally roll into the cities. Try doing that to Japan. With a superior Navy, and a fortified coastline, it would have cost another D-day to invade and take with troops. Location matters. It dictates how you strike and with what. When you set an attack, you don't ask yourself how many enemy lives will be taken, you ask how many soldiers wont go back home.

Thats why it was fire bombed.

The United States of America sucks balls, republican douche. Yes, everybody is lucky to live in a first world country, but Australia, Canada and most European and Scandinavian countries rank higher in the quality of life index, the human development index and a few of the European countries, Australia and Canada have lower tax rates than the already low tax rates in America. Also they have better healthcare.

Its a video of predator missiles being dropped. What do think happens when we send a drone out. The video makes it seem as those we are dropping them willy nilly. Have you ever even heard of the rules of engagement? Go HUUUURRR DUURRRR yourself and look it up. Theres no ******* way they can just drop rocket propelled explosives on civilians for ***** and giggles. If you really think that, your lacking in common sense.

Our Military could never target civilians with our Rules of Engagement. Its what separates us from the people we shoot at. That predator drone has a optic camera that can read the license plate off a moving car from thousands of feet in the air. It's only purpose is to identify enemy targets. If a missile is launched, its launched at a marked enemy location.

Every war has civilian causalities. The reason we hear of it now is because our media gets more views and more papers sold when they find gold like these videos. And for some perverse reason, it works. Do I blame the media? No. They need to make a buck. Do I blame the military? No. It's their ******* job.

I blame us.
#418 to #406 - anonymous (01/21/2012) [-]
So what you're saying is that we can kill how many civilians we want in the name of "justice" but when they fight back they are terrorists? well I think willyoumaryme is right about one thing. That you believe america is the best and can do whatever the hell they want.
User avatar #422 to #418 - patchesdacrazy (01/21/2012) [-]
Not justice, war.

Terrorists play an interesting game too. They use the civilians. They act as them, they hide among them, and use them as cannon fodder and as human shields. Stirs quite the moral conflict. Like a hostage situation. Do you back out and admit defeat, or take a precision strike and risk a innocent life.

decisions, decisions, decisions...

I like to think I'm well informed. Having been raised in some of the sketchier parts of the Northwest, about when I was 15 or so, both parents moved to the nicer suburbs, due to advancements in their careers. Because of my ties with friends back in what I called Hill billy hell (I rather enjoyed it) I was able to see the contrast in the two lifestyles. And from the two places, I saw one thing dominant and affect peoples lives more than anything. Lack of care. Lack of care to speak up. A lack of care to turn in their ballots. A lack of care to stand up for their opinion. People consider themselves to be making a change, revolutionizing our nation, by doing nothing more than a Facebook update. They don't call their representatives, they don't sign petitions or ballots. They complain about how they can't get a job, but they never go out and look. I took a class about our government, and will shamelessly admit that I neglected to do further research outside of class. But from what I learned, We have the tools to craft this nation to whatever we want. But we would sooner spend more time looking for remote than sign a piece of paper.

But, I see what your saying.

again, sorry for the rant.

You are better spoken then most of the people I go to school with, and most of the people I meet online. Have no worries.

And I totally agree. Having lived in America most of my life, I'm very aware that I more than likely have only the inside view of our country. With that in mind, I do try to keep myself from becoming a full blown die hard patriot zealot.

Your video is very interesting... It has sparked my curiosity. I will more than likely be looking into this. Thank you!

Oh, and I agree with you as well on the lack of intelligent people. I'm glad to have struck up this conversation with you.
