Oh yes because making a theocratic nation based on an ancient book has never backfired before.

>mfw these posts
>"based on the GOD of the Bible"
>mfw it doesn't say based on sharia law
>mfw the God of the Bible is always just
>mfw the God of the Bible literally sacrificed himself for the whole of humankind (inb4 "no he didnt his son did hurr durr. Look up the concept of the Trinity)
>mfw God's rules are the ten commandments
>mfw the only reason that the Old Testament is in the Bible is for creation and a few other morals and encouragement (see Psalms)
>mfw 99% of everything posted on funnyjunk against any religion ever is incredibly biased and wrong
>mfw any of the people that agree with this are dimwitted euphoric idiots that voted these kinds of people into office because they listen to anything they're told as long as they want to hear it

I'm gonna get thumbed to hell for this (no pun intended), but I don't ******* care at this point. I'm absolutely and thoroughly infuriated by these posts.

I think its weird that most of the posts on funnyjunk are rhetorical rants against celebrities who don't care

What if.....what if God's rules were just the 10 COMMANDMENTS in the Book of Exodus themselves and not the LAWS OF MOSES in Exodus, Leviticus, and Deutoronomy?
I don't like talking about these subjects, especially among those who seem to dislike the christian community

To play devil's advocate, there's a difference between governing with the modern set of Catholic beliefs and adhering strictly to Old Testament scriptures. While I believe in the separation of church and state seeing stiff like this kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

"Amendment 1
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
-The Bill of Rights
"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen [Muslims],—and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan [Mohammedan] nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries"
-Treaty of Tripoli, 1797

Government and religion should stay separate. That's why it kind of irritates me that everyone who runs for office has to pose as a "God fearing American" seriously it shouldn't even matter.
