England was an imperial nation that was very unstable. For example, they had a strong focus on absolutism (they wanted a monarchy). Henry VIII created Anglicanism because the Pope had something up his ass and Henry wanted to **** other women to get a boy. England constantly changed their mind between Protestantism and Catholicism which led to the death of many people (Protestants in England and Catholics in Scotland for example). Charles I had a strong focus on the Divine Right of Kings (the King is chosen by God and therefore he is better than everyone and is above the law). Charles also knew how to get **** done and when Parliament didn't give him money, he dissolved them (That's British for **** democracy). He then created Parliament again but they still had a stick up their ass and wanted Charles to sign a bunch of **** he didn't want to, so Charles being the patient man he is, dissolved Parliament (again, this guy got **** done).

I essentially just finished throwing a bunch of **** at you I remember from AP European History. I'm also American, so have sympathy on me in case I ****** something up and offend a European or some other white person.

England is still my favorite European history country

For a significant amount of time, England was extremely imperialist. Invading anything that hadn't been claimed by a major power yet, and several things that had. They then proceeded to put themselves above the native inhabitants in every way possible while draining it of its resources. England's motto: "The sun never sets" used to be because England was so widespread that somewhere in the world, it was daylight in English territory.

England through history did a lot to **** things up and create enmity, but as soon as America became the main world power they pretty much continued the same trends.
User avatar #376 to #117 - redrex (10/15/2013) [-]
it was completely unnecessary to try and throw the US under the bus in that situation

Well we kinda had to, considering that most of the world issues had English ******* up written all over it.

Israel-Palestine
India-Pakistan
Numerous African nations trying to kill each other because of an English divide and conquer strategy.
Canada. (no i' not referring to an incident here, Canada is the problem).

Then there's the conflicts where the Europeans (not just the UK) decided to be instigators and we were left wondering what the **** we were going to do about it.
Either promote democracy, self determination and an anti-colonial stance, or side with our terrible friends the Euros.

why and why
User avatar #78 to #48 - MrDeadiron ONLINE (10/15/2013) [-]
Seriously read a history book. At one point in English history English lords would impose the right of prima nocte which essentially said they could take their female subjects virginity.

i consider my highschool education, which was primarily southern state based, to be severely lacking in "world history"
last time i took that class was 9th grade and that was ancient world history
ive never been educated about europe or asia on a large scale basis in school

Quite honestly if your schooling is lacking its your responsibility as an individual to go out and obtain the information.
