Safe =/= I want it near my house.

Airports are safe, but i'd be pissed if they built one next to my house. He even admits he doesn't want it since it will affect his property value. A wind turbine lowers property value, too, you know.

I personally think fracking is one of the worst ideas we have ever came across, from an environmental standpoint. the process injects solvents into the earths crust to cause fissures in the rock, normally shales which have high levels or pourosity and low levels of connectivity. They then pump the solvent out, extract the gas and dispose of the solvent.

the main problem is then what do we do with the solvent. considering natural gas is non polar a non polar solvent needs to be used. such solvents include benzoates and other extremely nasty chemicals. The current solution? dig a deep ass hole and pump the solvent and waste into it. Out of sight out of mind.

considering a majority of the planet gets its freshwater from ground water sources it seems extremely stupid to me to pump toxic chemicals into the ground where we have a very limited understanding of how tings function. And I know the current argument is there is no way that the solvent will seep into the drinking water... well i'm calling ******** on that because the process of fracking breaks rocks apart creating fissures which would turn an impenetrable layer into a permeable layer facilitating mixing.

sorry for the long post. I didn't mean to rant.

tl;dr. fracking pumps very nasty chemicals into the ground and considering we all need clean water to drink it seems stupid to me, even barn animals dont **** where they eat.

they drill a hole into the earth to the shale layer, then shoot holes in the pie in certain areas of the pipe, then pump down a snot like slurry with special round sand under high pressure to fracture the shale (fracking), then they suck it all back up to and extract the oil or natural gas, then they proceed to jack off onto hundred dollar bills and stick them to pricey hookers on there horse ranch

fascinating how american's always complain about the wealthiest but never even try to do something about it. you don't try to fight it or even get the word out, instead you sit at home behind your computer and wait for the gas drillers to come to you and poison you one by one

A buddy of mine does this **** for a living. He wanted to get me on his crew and said the pay was awesome. Built it up to me for weeks and I put in an application without researching it. Then when he stopped talking about his massive pay he went into what he actually did and that **** is terrifying. "I mean, it's not that uncommon people die. But only the stupid ones. Nobody on my crew has died so far." And just the **** they do is horrible. About 4 months ago he showed up at work right when an explosion went off. He only got ringing in his ears, but he watched as an entire crew was burned alive. For two weeks he stayed at my place having nightmares of what he saw. "There was a headset with a melted ear in it. You could see the burnt skin and where they were holding when it melted." Again, stupid people were the result. Someone thought it would be funny to hit a pressurized pipe with a hammer and boom. Dead husbands. Needless to say I did not take the job. **** fracking.

No No No. You people don't understand. This is the man responsible for making millions of dollars fracking all over the United States. He is the one that okays each project. He doesn't mind putting it in someone's backyard. But as soon as it's about to go into HIS backyard he starts a lawsuit to stop it. That definitely qualifies him as a dick.
