AMD is cheaper, intel is more expensive.

Ehh, it doesn't really matter (just not put-you-in-debt-when-you-can-get-better-for-cheaper), I just need to upgrade badly because I have a 1.3 GHz. And if it matters, I have an AMD.

Well you may also need a new motherboard because this one is probably outdated as hell.
This one looks really good for the price AMD FX-4170

you need to mention that intel is also better, amd they just throw in so many cores, their 8 core is so unstable it sucks, and the intel 2600K beats almost every amd core but if ur a budget you pick amd but if you have money and want a sweet pc you go intel

2600k isnt needed for gaming. games dont use hyperthreading.
Also my amd quadcore is way better bang for the buck.

Just finished searching , see other comment. You will need a am3+ motherboard. Those are not really expensive too.

Well with a new cpu and gpu, maybe some extra ram(cheap anyways) and a motherboard. wait that is kind of a new pc.
