"A Taiwan teenager has collapsed and died at an internet cafe after playing Diablo 3, a popular online video game, for 40 consecutive hours, local media say.

No, I'm sorry, that doesn't get a feel. It's just a case of human idiocy. Putting the wants before the needs. He'd have been fine if he'd ate something or drank something but no he just sat there and allowed himself to die because he had clearly formed some type of addiction to Diablo.
Now all that's left is to wait and see if the Taiwanese government sues Blizzard because their game can potentially kill people. And yes, some governments are actually dumb enough to blame the game instead of the player.

We know they aren't at fault, but trust me, there will be lawsuits. The country will blame the developer rather than the gamer. I'll give you an example similar to this. After the death of Ayrton Senna (Formula 1 driver) the team he had been employed at was charged with Manslaughter by the Italian Government. Now Ayrton had died in a car crash on track, this was completely out of the hands of the team and was nothing more than a freak and tragic accident, but still the government blamed the team because they had made the car he was driving. In the same way that the Taiwanese Government will blame the game and developers for the death instead of the player.
As retarded as it is, that will honestly be their case. They'll demand that the game shuts off for 5 minutes every half hour to allow the player to rest and if they don't see this in a future patch/update then they'll ban Blizzards games in Taiwan.
