Okay guys, obligatory Mass Effect 3 ending rant. Don't read unless you want to hear me bitching.
I haven't played any of the Mass Effect games, I only started caring about the ending because I got the first one and decided to research the bad ending before I started playing, but even as a spectator I could tell that Bioware broke so many basic rules of storytelling when it came to any of the conclusions, that I'm sure I wrote better endings in third grade English class. I was just about to start playing this series, but that feeling that I'm just going to walk out of this disappointed is going to loom over me the entire time I play. I wish I could give Bioware the excuse that they were strapped for time, but they weren't. From what I've heard, they "finished" the game with heaps of time left before launch, and instead of using that time to make better endings, they used it to make an "essential" Day One Release DLC that they didn't even have the decency to give out for free, so you had to pay an extra ten dollars just to play the game to it's fullest. Even now, with the "N Extra Ending" DLC, I've heard that you still don't get much of a choice. I would have at least liked for there to be an option for a happy ending, but nope, no matter what you're fucked.
TLDR; even people who didn't play Mass Effect can get butthurt over the ending. How bad do you have to fuck up to be able to do that?

There doesn't always have to be a happy ending, I just think that in a game like this there should at least be the option of one, dependent on your actions throughout the game. Personally, the least I want is for the ending to make sense, without having to try to believe that the Indoctrination Theory is correct.
