I finally got to play through Mass Effect and i just wasnt as moved by it as so many people seem to have been, i just felt Dragon Age Origins was a much better game.

Mass effect on its own, yeah personally dont find it moving at all, personally didnt like it at all...
but move on to 2 and 3 then it can be a little more moving
personally found 2 especially good, making you build up relations with your crew in order to make them survive... kinda means the characters you like you'll get to know more about.
move on to mass effect 2 and 3, the sequels are definitely far better

I'd say in my own opinion yes they did a better job, than in mass effect 1 anyway in mass effect 1 i didnt really care for any of the characters and only wnated to go through making good choices for the next two games. whereas in Dragon age, i followed and asked for opinions and stuff and enjoyed the characters, exceept for wynne, screw her xD
