It's a good idea, if you're the type of person that uses money notes to light your cigars...
The only thing that's better about Macs is the video editing program, and if you want that, just buy a non overpriced PC and buy the Mac OS...

or just torrent adobe after effects and stuff.

After effects isn't like Final Cut. Premiere Pro is though. After effects is more for..... After effects. Like you use after effects to add amazing video effects after you have recorded and cut everything. Premiere pro is good for cutting it up. Messing with the audio. and getting it ready for after effects.

I know this stuff because I know a whole lot about video editing and motion graphics. I also know photoshop quite a bit :3 I can use many different programs on a computer. I'm trying to learn FL Studio right now because I like music. After that I wanna learn how to program java and then whatever is easiest after java!

Well, I have a personal grudge against Mac. But it's only because I used to have one and wasn't able to play ANY good game. Fucking hated that. But there some Mac games on steam. Unless you are planning on PC gaming or going around saying how ''meta'' your Mac is, I don't really care.

What would be the purpuse of the computer?

Casual Internet browsing for the most part. But I would like to play games on it because I've never gotten to do that because we've always had laptops

I wouldn't get a Mac then. It just isn't worth it.

It just can't run most games, and you can't customize it. Other than that, it's not terrible.

But the thing I've heard from most people is it isn't anywhere near worth it because you can get an average Mac for 1700, where as you can get the same PC for a fraction of the price.
