Have you released Knight lautrec (at least i think that was his name) He's a golden knight that imprisoned in the church. when you free him he can assist you in defeating the bell gargoyles i believe (someone yell at me if i'm wrong)

Lautrec doesn't help with the Gargoyle's, that's Solaire.
Lautrec's a cunt, he gives you a Sunlight Medal then kills your Firekeeper in Firelink Shrine the bastard, then you need to go kill him and get the Firekeepers soul back to revive her.

I'd still kill Lautrec myself, or at least after the Gargoyle fight, he's a dick, plus if you kill him before he kills your firekeeper thats 5 Humanity and a Ring of Favour and Protection for you.

I know, I've heard you can summon him for the fight against the gaping dragon but that thing is easy enough already and adding a summon would just make it longer.
I always just summon him and solaire for the gargoyles and kick lautrec off the cliff after.
Before you can summon lautrec you have to go back and get the sunlight medal he gives you as a reward.

Didn't know you could take him into Gaping Dragon, haha.
I always kill him outright, RoF&P helps so much at the start of the game I find, haha.

I did free some guy in the church who said he would reward me later (not sure if it was in church or the burg). I also killed the white knight by the dragon who gave me the summoning thing. Was that bad?
