he only uses the 10mm pistol because he thinks he's the wasteland's sheriff, using a duster and cowboy hat. no heavy armors. also, he's only allowed to fast travel if it's literally half way cross the map. lastly, he spends all his time collecting tin cans, normal or bent and stacks them up and shots at them from the hip to practice his aim.

other idea: Tunnel rat. When you leave the vault, you're dreadfully scared of this new world. you quickly find cover in a small destroyed house nearby. you sleep in the first day, waking the next to look over the area. you find megaton, but are too scared to get close enough to even talk to the robot outside. you explore the hills and kill any attackers, but your attacks a little random and slow cause you're that new at this. you collect any food and return to the little bed you found and sleep. time passes and you finally have enough confidence to enter megaton, but as soon as you enter you see a man walking DIRECTLY at you, you flee the scene instantly and hide for the rest of the day. you have to act very timid and scared shitless to any new foe, but mostly to every human being. (super mutants don't count, and neither do feral ghouls) skills you choose when leaving vault are science, med and speech. basically, it's like your guy has a very, VERY bad case of aspergers and fears anything new to an unhealthy degree. and you try to sneak around and avoid any contact whenever possible.

Mr. Manly McManly man: skills out the vault are unarmed, big guns and speech. You don't give a shit about feelings or wants of a person, but will fight to the death to protect the people. Why? Cause you're bored as shit and there's nothing else to do. Your arsenal will be only, and repeat only, normal hand grenades, power fist, and any big gun except missles. if there's a way to talk it out, you wouldn't find it. you just let the roar of the mini-gun speak for you. but you also have horrible aim, but there's so many bullets and explosions you don't care cause it just look so bad ass. thats when you charge fist first into the nearest talon company merc's face, turning what was once a skull into a fine red mist. you also collect the bodies after a large battle into a pile then stand on top, to feel victorious and show your dominance. You are the pure definition of alpha, and you're going to give all the fuckers who mess with you the omega.
