You are mistaken. It's perfectly legal to purchase and own semi-automatics in several of the EU countries...at least for the time being.

oh, my bad. i just live in Europe (denmark specifically) and always just assumed we couldn't have all that stuff they can get in america, since most politicians here are very anti-gun. what kinda of semi automatics are legal and where? i'd imagine semi auto handguns would be legal for sport and hunting in most places, but what about rifles?

Leaving the current legality aside, how big is the overlap between semi-automatic and hunting weapons? I would imagine it's a fairly decent overlap, but I also imagine the overlap between the weapons credited with the 100,000 deaths have little overlap with the weapons intended to be banned

The AR10 which evolved into the M16 military rifle started out as a sporting rifle.

What defines an Assault rifle today is it's cartridge and select-fire capabilites. If it lacks one of these features, It's not an assault rifle.

TL;DR: The political elite and mislead individuals want to solve firearms related violence with more laws that wont do a damn thing to make us safer.

it comes from the /r9k/ (robot9000 board) which was a board that auto-temp-banned you for non original comments. It eventually forced people to only post long comments, which eventually led to a shit ton of "feels bad man" type greentexts. This snowball continued into the /r9k/ we know of lonely sad wizard-men and NEET autists

You are at the Mona Lisa exhibit in the Louvre. It is an exceptionally rare occasion where there isn't any one else in the room except for you, the elderly woman, and the security guards.
A group of refugees walks in, throw some molotov cocktails, and run away to continue destroying the museum. The security guards instantly ignite, but you have a path out through the flames.
The elderly lady is slowly shuffling towards the exit, but the fire is rapidly spreading and you can see that it will reach her before she can escape. Furthermore, the heat has caused the glass surrounding the Mona Lisa to shatter, but hasn't damaged the artwork (although it is closing in). The sprinklers have not turned on; the system was turned off prior to the attack.
You estimate that you can either reach the painting, or the elderly woman, in the exact same amount of time; however, reaching one means the fire will get to the other. There is no possible way to save them both.

Which one do you save?
#45 - anon (04/08/2016) [-]
save neither and get myself the hell out of there
the mona lisa sucks and the old lady smells
#19 - anon (04/07/2016) [-]
I would save myself.
In a live threatening situation you always
have to think of your one safety first.

mona lisa

the elderly woman has lived her live, not much else she can do now adays. plus the media wouldn't know you were in that situation and you'd be in the news as some dickhead who saved a cool painting.
