that's a butt-shield for user to freely say what they want without reprecussions... it's old and i'm not saying everyone tells the truth in 4chan as you've got pasta storys and the nessies... but when it's something believeable like this then why think they are lying? they have no need to do so..

because it's the internet... it doesn't actually matter if people will earn nothing if youa re like me for example just making a hilarious as anon on /b/ and seeing other anon's making a shitstorm about it makes me feel a thingly feel inside (wich i believe is either the feel of achievement or proudness).
I can also give you another example and use a famous serial killer the Zodiac and point out that he told/hinted the police about every one of his crimes before he commited them just so that he could feel like he was superior, he will never be congratulated properly doesn't mean he didn't like to know he made something "awesome"
