Get your feet on the ground. Where would I put the cables in a relatively small room stuffed with couches and monitors? People need to climb over one another as it is, imagine the damage to health and property if 12 cables with anchor-like controllers were involved.
User avatar #212 - zoidz (04/03/2014) [-]
That's when survival of the fittest comes to play, if you can't dodge a controller going at you because someone stepped on a cable, then you gotta work out more. Or just tie them all together until it reaches you, or bring the console to the side of the couch and only leave the main cable going to the TV.

It's all because of George Lucas' boring approach using special effects. That's why the prequels failed. Mr. Plinkett's Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Review skip to 1:40:00, unless you want to watch the whole thing... but I wouldn't advise it if you think the prequels are better than the original trilogy...

sigh... but do we really care about mace windu? I sure as hell don't because he is a one dimensional character. Him dying won't affect me at all. Fuck when Han Solo was Frozen I was sad (I was 8 leave me alone). Watching them push the frozen Han onto the floor was scary because I had the impression that a character that I cared about was not going to be around anymore. What the hell did Mace Windu do? Talk... more talking... more talking... and more talking... Oh and he fought some droids for awhile... then more talking and bantering. Then he finally fights the emperor in a boring meaningless fight because I don't care about Mace at all. At least we learn to care about Luke and Ben Kenobi in the original star wars. We even learn to care about what happens to Vader.
User avatar #85 - zoidz (03/19/2014) [-]
Yeah, I didn't really get interested by his character, tho I was only using an example of how he used the force, it would have saved so many Jedi lives if they did that, I mean literally, force push the floor knocking most out, speed run out of the place and all.
I actually liked episodes 1, 2 and 3, hell I'm glad that they were made 'now' BECAUSE of the special effects and all. I mean Yoda looks good, the Jedi/Sith fights are really good, comparing to episodes 4,5 and 6, which had an amazing story, but pretty bad effects/fights, it somewhat worked out.
I myself am mainly interested in Star Wars because of the lightsabers, the force, beings that can still die but possessing god like abilities and all, not really the gun blasters and space 'cowboys'.

I don't think you understand my argument. It doesn't matter how they get the power, what matters is when you cross the line in power things lose meaning. You are playing a game where you are fighting worthless storm troopers with force powers that basically rape anything in your path. That basically kills the tension in the game. Now, God of War and DMC have some ridiculous powers BUT they also make the enemies powerful (sometimes gods) and it evens the playing field, so there is tension in the game. The prequels make this mistake too by having Jedi basically kill any worthless droid that they encounter. This kills tension.

User avatar #84 - hawaiianhappysauce (03/19/2014) [-]
Doesn't matter if it's canon or not. I can't take a game seriously when my character is too strong to overcome any opposition.
User avatar #96 - huntergriff (03/19/2014) [-]
>I can't take a game seriously when my character is too strong to overcome any opposition.

So you hated playing as a jedi/sith, which are both supposed to be the most OP beings in the fuckin' galaxy. For fuck's sake man even at the beginning of the game, you have vader obliterating every motherfucker you see on Kashyyyk. the fucker's just as powerful as starkiller
User avatar #101 - hawaiianhappysauce (03/19/2014) [-]
Wrong. That is just wrong. A single Jedi / sith couldn't take on that many enemies alone. And I hate to admit it but the prequels are considered canon and even the jedi in that arena were dying when fighting those robots. Also, Vader obliterating people on Kashyyk is just more bullshit in the game. Vader can't do that either. If I play a game where I am basically a god, then there really is no fear in losing. Thus there is really not tension in the game. That's why I hate it. I play Zelda and I know Link is mortal, I know Link has to rely on enemy weaknesses to win, I know that if Link didn't have the weapons to help him then he would die. I know that Link is mortal. I could play Resident evil 4. I know Leon S Kennedy is mortal, I know he has few weapons and that these enemies are physically stronger and I would have to think outside the box to fight instead of spamming cheat "force" attacks.
User avatar #76 - zoidz (03/19/2014) [-]
Oh, then that would be more game mechanics wise, and yeah a Jedi/Sith in Battlefront 2 was too godly compared to the troopers. Hopefully BF3 will have a better AI.

The comics make just as much sense as the game. The only things that make sense are: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. Those three movies established what the force means, what a jedi is, what the dark side is.

The prequels basically ruined star wars and following the prequels you have these shitty video games that miss the fucking point of the star wars movies. The best Star Wars game I played was for the gameboy.
User avatar #70 - zoidz (03/19/2014) [-]
Gotta agree to some point since it took Palpatine 1000 years to master the Force storm, but if any of them became immortal they could do most things. And wouldn't genetic mutation and cloning (which is used in cannon) also be a factor and influence the characters powers/abilities?
User avatar #72 - hawaiianhappysauce (03/19/2014) [-]
