maybe the part 1. Part two was as far from the book as it could possibly be.
But regardless, when if comes to movies based off books I like to approach them as two completely unrelated entities, because of course things will be different and there will be different things I like and dislike about them, and if I approach them as the same thing, I just get frustrated that it's not perfect.

I disagree, but I do see what people mean when they say that. Quite a lot was changed, but I felt it kept the spirit of the books alive. Granted, I hated Neville's speech in the movies vs the books. Books version was far more powerful.
All in all, I agree with your statement, it's best to approach them as two separate entities and enjoy them both on their own merits.
