I do want good games to make a profit, but I don't want that to feel like the main focus. I don't mind too much honestly; I don't lose any sleep at night over it. Honestly in some ways games that have limitations are sometimes better, when you fund the hell out of a game it doesn't make it better. AC3 wasn't bad, but it didn't feel as good as AC2 to me. It feels like what happens to a lot of franchises is the focus gets lost along the way.

I'm not sure what part of what I'm said you are replying to, because I wasn't talking about the designers, I am talking about the teams as a whole, including creative directors.

>implying social security benefits the public

Many government policies hurt the public. For example, the way our welfare system is set up quite literally penalizes people for working. If a person works too many hours, their welfare payments drop suddenly so they have a net decrease in income.

The way social security and medicare taxes are set up discourages companies from hiring people. The money that you pay into social security would be better off sitting in a matress; it is horribly inefficient.

The problem with our healthcare is something called 3rd party payer. If somebody else is paying for your stuff, you personally do not care what the cost would be. It would be like if your car insurance paid for your gas.
Obamacare makes this worse because it requires insurance companies to pay for loads of things that insurance should not pay for, like birth control. The economy works when customers go out and look for the best prices. The encourages companies to lower their prices and increase quality. This does not happen with insurance.
Furthermore, the employer mandate which will soon take effect shifts the cost of insurance to your employer which simply discourages companies from hiring. This sort of thing directly causes unemployment.

Obamacare is a bad idea. It is not a good for the public.
It is vitally important that you judge systems by their results, not by the intentions of the people who create them.

Systems are no longer judged by the results. They are now judged by what the president says about them.

All he has to do is say "It's working!" and all his followers will instantly believe it without an ounce of skepticism.

Its a step in the wrong direction actually. No Obamacare is not evil and I really do believe that it was designed and enforced with everyone's best intentions but it is incredibly bad for the economy. Yes we are coming out of a nasty recession but that doesn't mean we now have the spending money to give everyone free healthcare. The damage Obamacare will do will not be felt for a few more years. We are at the start of another baby boom and with these increased birthrates is when we are definitely going to feel the repercussions of this system. You also have to realize that because Obamacare forces employers to provide insurance for full time employees, a lot of companies are not as interested in hiring full time employees. Healthcare is nice but the U.S. CAN NOT sustain it at the moment.

If health insurance was so great before Obamacare, then why isare medical bills the biggest reason for bankruptcy in the USA?
User avatar #151 - thatguyontheright (07/23/2014) [-]
And people wasting money on Junk insurance policies that did absolutely nothing but ate your money was great for the economy (These are the policies that ACA got canceled that got the right's panties in a bunch)? Currently, 60% of all Bankruptcies are from medical bills...and 45% of those have insurance.

Yea, those times were better.

There is a solution to the whole Employer providing insurance (which they did for years before workers rights started to be whittled away for profit), pay people a living wage where they can afford insurance on their own...simple. I bet it'd be cheaper than providing insurance. A man needs to eat, and he needs access to a doctor when he is hurt or sick....and someone is going to pay for it...either the Government or his employer either through paying him a living wage, or providing the insurance outright.
