They will be graphics wise. The current card is ~20% faster than the card in the Xbox 360.

The downside is I would not doubt Sony or Microsoft to double console power when they release. That would set the standards right back about where they are now.

Then the Xbox 360, then 2 later the ps3 used, about a year after that the wii, then this year my current laptop because Accidental damage wore off. Sold it for $450 (i'm a tech and I keep it in good condition). Made sure it still had 3 months of ADP and told them "send it in and ask HP for a tuneup" (you can do that usually they don't mind) bought the new one for $950 now im here.

Wii U seems REALLY gimmicky and unfortunately like the wii i'm afraid its more fun for a while and kind of loses its appeal over time. I do want to play Zelda though.

Good point but i'm definitely gonna be way too excited to not get it. Since nintendo is striking first for the 8th gen they could possibly be the top dog in the console war (though i doubt that will happen). Still, the next few years should be very interesting indeed

I bought a laptop for school saved for a good while it cost $900 bucks but I researched and looked for coupons. It has played every game on high or Ultra that i've tried. I play pretty much anything graphic intensive.

So for roughly $1350 bucks you can have all 4.
That is a LOT of money but individually it's pretty cheap. Also consider that I bough them over years. and that since most people plan on spending 3-500$ on a laptop for school or work anyways take that out. Then subtract 1 Console at most likely new price.

1350 - 500 =850 -300 =550

In the end it's a 500 dollar price difference and not the "thousands" people invoke when adding a PC or PS3 into the equation.

Actually until Windows 8 Indie Development was a lot easier on a pc. Though I will agree they're all a stupid amount of fun.

I agree. I understand people don't like certain consoles but i guarantee that's only because they don't have them. Think about it, the first 7th gen console was the xbox so everybody got it, and no one paid as much attention to the other consoles aside from casuals and fanboys. Its a shame really. A lot of people are missing out on tons of fun
