Feeling nostalgic and want to experience Monster Hunter 1 again? not only that do you wish you could play Monster Hunter 1 multiplayer again? well there's a way to do it, but it's not quite the same as booting up your PS2 and throwing in your favourite disk. no this is a roundabout way of experiencing Monster Hunter 1, by playing the Monster Hunter G psp port in Monster hunter Freedom. Unfortunately this version of the game does not have the town of Minegarde(online town), and we will most likely never see minegarde again unless someone successfully makes a Private server for MH1(which is most likely never going to happen because no one has the server SSL codes)

Step 1: go to www.ppsspp.org/downloads.html and pick up the client for your PC
Step 2a: go to secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/download.aspx and download the unmanaged version
Step 3: go to You need to login to view this link (USA)/156045-download and grab Freedom
Step 4a: -Open up Hamachi and create an account.
-click network and create a network
this is the network your friend would have to join.
-right click the number beside the power button on the hamachi widget and click copy ipv4
Step 5: -Open up ppsspp and open the "Game settings" tab then select "more settings"
-go to the Networking tab on this screen and past the ipv4 number from step 4 in the "change pro adhoc server IP address line"
-Enable networking/wlan and built-in PRO ad hoc server
Step6: -Under the System tab, Emulation, make sure "Fast memory" is NOT ENABLED.
-Under the Controls tab, Control mapping, don't map anything for "Unthrottle" or "Speed toggle" to avoid using them.
-Moreover, don't map anything for "Save State" or "Load State" as well.
-If you are using a ps3/ps4/xbox360 controller, map the right analog stick to the D-pad mapping by pressing the plus(+) sign for better camera control.
Step7: -In game, go to multiplayer.
-When you go to multiplayer for the first time, a window for firewall may pop-up.
Simply check "Private networks" and "Public networks" and click "Allow access."

If Hamachi is Giving you trouble replace steps 2 and 4 with these
Step 2b: -go to www.tunngle.net/en/download and download Tunngle
Step 4b: -Register an account and login using Tunngle, make sure the Smiley face at the bottom right hand corner is either green or yellow, if it's a red X or and Orange exclamation mark you need to click it and walk through the guide on how to fix it.
- In the search bar at the top-left corner, type the title of the game you're going to play.
Enter one of the rooms that appear from the middle section.
For MHF's case, enter the room "Monster Hunter Freedom"
-From the right section, pick the player who is going to host the game and right-click his name.
Click "Copy IP to clipboard."
Make sure to connect to someone WITHOUT A RED X BESIDE HIS NAME.
If you want to connect to a certain player with a red X beside his name, one or both of you needs to port forward Tunngle.

If you decided to host the game, right-click your own username instead to copy your own IP.
