She wishes for a better world for them as her world dies. She told Okazaki that the bright lights would mean something about here(which appeared out the window when ushio was born for the 2nd time).

I finished the first season this morning, it took three or four days. (honestly the last episode where Tomoyo and him are together I loved just as much)

Most people tend to love that alternate ending.

If you're in a feely type state, try to watch the ending where Nagisa never met Okazaki but still gets courage from a prank he played on her.
