Having a greater import than export doesn't mean they're reliant on us, it means we're reliant on them. Sure it'll hit them if we stopped trading but basic logistics dictates that we're going to need to keep trading with them, and they'll be free to put as much import/export duty as they want.

I don't respect direct democracy anyway, the people genuinely do not know what is best for them. Representative democracy is a far better alternative. I am not a liberal by any means, so half the stuff people has posted on here doesn't apply to me anyway.
People do know what's going to happen. The pound was expected to fall, why they thought that's not a problem is beyond me. The IMF stated that the best case scenario for British economic growth is significantly lower than we've been experiencing for the past few years. So, no, nobody knows what's going to happen. But the best case scenario still isn't particularly good, and most of the reasons people voted for leave is either for immigration (which is stupid), extra cash for public services (which isn't going to happen) or the issue of 'democracy'. I bet you that if remain lost, there would be talk of revolution.
This is a horrible mistake, as no one is going to want to renew investment in our little island. Scotland might get an independence referendum again, as does Ireland. We might be witnessing the end of the UK because some people want to 'take back control' when we always had it in the first place. Even though it's an emotional reaction, it will affect us nonetheless.
