what does "inb4" even accomplish? You say the same thing someone else would've said but add inb4 before it..

inb4 = In Before. In my case it'd probably be like

"inb4 'I know what it means' "

You have a feeling that people are gonna say something specific, therefore writing it down before anyone else does.

I know what it means I just don't understand the purpose. What's the difference wether you write it or someone else does

The problem with a study involving people acting out while being observed is they KNOW they are being observed. If someone had violent tendencies, chances are they would be able to control those tendencies for the duration of the experiment, if not longer, just to avoid their being observed doing said activity. It is like a 10 year old kid and cookies. If you are watching them, they won't steal the cookies. But leave for a few hours and see what happens.

I am not saying that video games do cause violence, just that we can't really know for sure as this is a deep set study on human behavior that goes beyond the scope of watching some people for a few months.

Studies like this track people long term, it's not like a sterile lab environment if that's what you're thinking.

Knowing you are being observed doesn't stop you from doing something compulsory. Critics of violent video games say that the violence people commit in video games causes them to commit violent acts in the real world. They are basically saying that video games compel individuals to acts of violence. So, in that regard, studies do show that people are not compelled to violence because of violent video games.

Also, critics never seem to come down as hard on books, TV, or movies. Not to mention real news channels, which almost always start their broadcast with a death or tragedy befalling a real person.

As far as I know almost every "video game inspired killer" had some form of mental disorder or another, the games didn't make them violent they just allowed them to express that violence.

Though I will admit, after playing video games I know many more ways to kill someone then I did before...
