9) The music is something awful. It's like someone saw a Wagner opera and decided that it would translate well to anime with some random modern rock elements mixed in. (Come to think of it, a lot of anime does this nowadays.) It lacks subtlety, and while I guess some would consider it epic, to me it just feels silly.

6) The setting seems to be mid-Renaissance Europe, although there are jarring anachronisms, like syringes and, perhaps this is just a guess, the jet-powered rappelling equipment they use to kill the Titans. (That was sarcasm.) Their construction seems to be a black box, which is not surprising, given the shallow nature of Japanese science fiction. Many people do not seem disturbed at all by the fact that there seems to be no explanation whatsoever for how the massive walls were constructed in defiance of what we know about structural engineering, nor any explanation for why the city planners thought it would be a great idea to build salient cities to attract Titan activity, but failed to compartmentalize the internal structure so that the loss of one gate would not mean the loss of an entire third of the total territory.

7) Then again, it seems that everyone with authority in the series thus far is carrying a giant idiot ball. The best soldiers apparently are placed further inside the walls, as if they expect us to believe that those in authority would actually rather have personal protection than a productive economy (meaning tax revenue) and stronger national security. Indeed, all these years after the first disaster, why continue to locate major civilian centers near gates at all? Why not instead build a series of smaller walls inside of the gate (instead of digging trenches, which obviously do not work) to form a bailey from which you can rain cannon fire down on the Titans from multiple angles if the wall is breached yet again?

8) The character ensemble seems to pretty much cater to your standard anime tropes. Even if they live long enough, they are unlikely to see any real development beyond their archetype.

User avatar #123 - yofutofu (09/06/2013) [-]
1) The characterization is quite primitive and even preposterious at points despite the attempts to make the cast mature and serious.

2) It may seem all "tragic" in the beginning and make the audience "shocked" but eventually people will soon realize there is no actual tragedy and survival later in the anime; it is all about magic superpowers like in the case of any run of the mill action shonen (like naruto).

3) I've seen this all before... the cheesy dialogue, the 1 dimensional characterization, and the overused shonen nonsense. There are lots of those and by god do they ruin all attempts at having a serious survival or psychological story. The enemy seems invincible at first but then some obnoxious depressing, angry teenagers get convenient superpowers and defeat them by the like it's no problem... how fun. At this point, it seems like everyone has jutsus and hidden evil powers inside them, just like in Naru Don't even respond to me with a post saying "There is no other way the anime could be told.”

4) Half the interest, most will show in this anime, derives from the gore, which is meaningless and cheap. The other half is the mystery of the unworldly enemies, which goes away after it is revealed to all of the watchers. The anime pretends to be far more than it actually is; and that is a most basic zombie apocalypse scenario. I'm sure you get what I mean by that.

5) So Attack on Titan takes place in a future wherein humanity is hiding from man-eating giants behind three massive concentric walls. A mysterious pair of titans appear and bring down the outermost wall, causing approximately 20% of the surviving population to die and giving impetus for our main protagonist to seek revenge.

Are you talking about this?

Article 1, Section 8, Clause 12

To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;

Or something else. I'd prefer if you cited what you mean, I'm not going to take your word for it, like I wouldn't take anyones word for it.

On a side note:
I HAVE been doing my own research for years, I've been watching intently since the 2011 Libyan rebel uprising, I haven't seen any evidence alluding that the Assad regime has used chemical weapons, although I believe he likely has them stockpiled somewhere. I have seen and know that terrorists wouldn't hesitate I think it would be a big mistake to attack Syria and put unstable Islamic fighters in charge.

I'd just like to say that I'm sorry that retarded bitch "lustad" deleted your comments on one of her "funny comics".

You were just expressing your thoughts on the subject of that comic (with wich I ABSOLUTELY agree, her comics are ******* un-funny pieces of dragon **** ) and would just like to inform you that she even went and disabled the comments because the majority of them (and the top rated ones) were negative towards her content.

Pathetic, eh?

i know , i was trolling , and also there has been many studies each using different systems of classifying the "the success" of a nations public school system so no conclusive results can be made , also I used severely incorrect grammar to increase the anger of fj :P ( I meant no offence to the American, because saying they're all Unintelligent would be a Ignorant statement).
