Everything I post is stuff I legitimately made. I don't always know if the idea is used before, because I don't spend every waking moment online, and I don't go on every site on the internet. I will not repost. I think it undermines what this site is actually about. I may use this site to get out my feelings and frustration, but those posts aren't for thumbs. They're merely for venting.
Moral of the story: Thumb my content up or down, I don't give a fuck. You don't decide my worth.

weakinthecenterr (01/21/2013) [-] 1. no because most of the commandments are about other people. and you do actually need to do good to get into heaven. its not all prayer like in the movies where all religion is hated because most people in hollywood is gay and want to attack religion all the time. 2. im guessing you're an introvert who usually tries to stay in the bedroom when company is over. XD 3. depends on the person i guess. i dont know what personal experiences you had to shape your view but ill just say every asshole has been hurt in some way before and is lashing out from pain.so are they a victim or a asshole? 4. no but im saying belief in god creates a community of people who will protect each other. similar goals and experiences bind us together. its a evolutionary trait 1) They may be ABOUT other people, but they are for YOU to follow. 2) I don't appreciate judging based on one statement. I prefer the company of others. 3) There is nothing in this world that gives anyone the right to be an asshole to someone when they've never done anything to you, whether they've been hurt before or not. You don't take out previous life issues on someone else. Taking out issues on someone unrelated to them makes you an asshole, not a victim. 4) So you have to be the same religion to be in a group of friends with someone... I did not know this. Let me call up everyone I hang out with to say that I can't be their friend anymore because we don't have similar experiences. I'd also like to point out that The Ten Commandments are also of the old testament. Christians believe that Jesus came to do away with the old law. Jesus said merely "Love god, and love your fellow man" My personal beliefs aren't really anyone else's business. My relationship with any gods is my own, and personal beliefs should not be shared with others. I'm sorry. I just really feel that such a personal relationship shouldn't be made public lightly. | I'm not associating having no heart with strict parenting by the way. It was the way my family was, and my sister is so turned off by everything because of it. i was the opposite, so it wasn't a result of the strictness. thought i'd make a note of that. People who say they are Christians and spite God are the people whose parents raised them strictly and they have no heart, only a mind for God. Believing in Him is SOOOOOO directly a relationship of the heart. And I totally understand people's dislike of institution and religion. People feel overwhelmed by the idea of a whole bunch of people gathered who spend scads of time worshipping something they can't scientifically prove the existence of. Institutions are also meant to grow, and people automatically associate the church like a macrophage cell in loose connective tissue- it swells up, surrounds a particle, and then engulfs if. But like I said, Baptists believe in discipleship. My church, in particular, does not go out and preach in public and what not. Rather, we go out and help people and show love to people of all walks of life and then they wonder what would possess us to give up so much time and effort to help them. That's when we can plant a seed, but nothing more. You CAN'T shove religion at people. It isn't effective. But I've spent countless hours cleaning for elderly, helping hurricane victims, babysitting for single mothers in homes, etc etc. And it's so rewarding to see someone really happy that someone cares about them. That's how we connect to our community. #110

That is why I've made the decision to home-school until college, or at least until high school. If it's only until high school, I will fork over the money for a private academy that I know for sure will teach important things, in addition to the regular school topics. There will be religion classes starting in 4th grade, but teaching about all the world's religions, not just the most common and not just my own.
Private schools aren't necessarily religious. And there really isn't a family religion that my husband and I will enforce. She will choose her own when she is older, which is why we will teach about many. My religion is kind of a mix of Hinduism and Wicca, my husband defines as a Pagan Buddhist, the rest of my family is Catholic, the rest of his family non-denominational Christians. Our differing religions don't affect our family ties or relationships, so we feel no reason to push a certain religion on our daughter and any future children.
Exactly! I dislike the idea of infant baptism for that reason.
That, and the fact that I have to send an apostasy form to the Vatican to be removed from the Roman Catholic census before I can be formally inducted into my chosen faith, all because my parents felt the need to baptize me. Do you know what happens when you send an apostasy form? They actually respond. And not "We have removed you from our census, have a nice day." They try and get you back. Like there aren't two billion more members.

well yes, there are many names, BUT thats the point...one is to find their god or goddess and have a personal connection to them
thats what mainstream religion doesnt have, because they dont want people to have that connection
mainstream religion is just the other half of the state....the state runs laws to control people's actions and the church runs commandments to control people's thoughts
there is no connection either way, they dont want you calling god by a name any more than they want you addressing a politician by their name.....just titles...be it calling them god or mayor/senator/president

being a fraternalist in a world that spews fascist democratic capitalism

well, also called Cosmogony, its faith in the chaos that created all existence
there was never just the 'one god' than mainstream religions preach, it was at one time one power, but in fact many gods as one, that split to become gods for every aspect of life
Norse gods, Egyptian, and Greek, all had a god for everything in life, i am devout to the pantheon power,...but more personally faithful to the goddess Justitia, goddess of justice, hence why im in law enforcement
as for fraternalist....well i made that word up based on my politics arent so much communist but more towards people being like fraternal kindred, treating each other like brothers and sisters and looking out for each other

well ever since the judeo-christian religions began their crusade on the world, all religions not based on their structure are paganistic and according to THEM, evil
cosmogony is the truth as it doesnt splinter things into factions, its one united faith in existence
there is no such thing as true human nature, some people are naturally inclined towards good and others to evil, it is a taught thing that can be changed

I guess it is possible to change human nature... But I don't think it can after a certain age.
And I don't go by the Judeo-Christian term of Paganism. I typically reject all Judeo-Christian definitions, as they have skewed views on nearly all subjects.
So cosmogony is all faiths combined? That's interesting...

well cosmogony is based around Kaos (chaos) the state of power that was before creation, that split to become all that we know
it was never 'the one god' more correct it was the singular whole of many gods combined
the split (science preaches the big bang, but when did explosions create round pieces....) truth be told each planet and everything on them were engineered to be the way they are by the gods
have you ever thought deeper into so-called evolution and thought there are some things that dont seem natural?

How? I'm very nearly broke, married, my husband was literally just able to find another job after being laid off due to cuts, and we have a baby due at the end of March. I don't mind a hectic life. Actually, I prefer it. I think I'd be bored on a solitary vacation. I really, really like being around other people, just not in large crowds.
Let's not start a political debate. It's 3:25 in the morning. I'm tired but can't sleep, and really don't wanna think too much. And my husband's job is a very very good one, once it really gets going. Average pay is amazing, so I don't think we'll be in any real harm. And I don't want to leave. The US has the best infant care system in the world, and that's what I'm most worried about.

I was planning on it. I hate the education system, but I hate how it's always being cut even more. I'm definitely home-schooling, and I've already been looking into that Gerber Life College Plan, because that's probably a good thing to do.

good, because the schools are propaganda centres that just teach kids how to obey the governmental ideas
its a fact kids who get homeschool are more likely to go to college
plus since the government showed they want kids fat and useless when they cut PE classes

...of the school system. Kids aren't being taught the stuff they need to be taught in school. they are taught some things they won't use again, but the actual useful stuff (who needs to pay taxes, how to file for taxes, basic emergency stuff like how to jump a car or fix a flat tire, anything about bank accounts or loans, how to balance a checkbook, how long you need to maintain an SR-22 after being pulled over, etc) is deemed unnecessary. No one wants to sit in school for 7-8 hours a day, then come home and learn more. They've cut so many useful classes like auto shop, banking 101, and business. Also, the way basic math is taught is ridiculous. Instead of doing it the way WE learned, now multiplication of 1,563 and 226 is (1,000*200)+(500*200)+(60*200)+(3*200)+(1,000*20)+(500*20)+(60*20)+(3*20)+(1,000 *6)+(500*6)+(60*6)+(3*6). 8 more steps than we were taught, because the schools think the kids can't handle the concept of carrying over and adding.
the puppetmasters dont want the kids to grow up to be anything real, they just want fat lazy obedient little peons to live their lives content in mundane jobs such as on a factory line or in an office cubicle

Theoretical communism is actually fantastic, and none of the people they argue about never had actual communism communities. Human nature is what makes it unlikely.
As for those type of Christians and mainstreams, unless they specifically ask, don't say anything; they're not going to listen. Fortunately, the ones like that are dying out.

Yes, from Supernatural, but he tends to only fall for inhuman or half-human girls, ie werewolves, demons, and others.
He's not part-demon. A demon dripped his blood into baby Sam's mouth, and that made him a potential leader for Hell's army. He has since been detoxed from the demon blood, and now we're onto a storyline entirely different than the apocalyptic storyline.

I've seen a part of it. It didn't really appeal to me.
To me, she looks a bit freaky. I think hair would make her more attractive to me. Pansexual only means that I can love someone regardless of their gender or their gender identity, not half-human or inhuman.

In theory if I were to meet someone like that who had the right personality, then yes. As it is, I am in a monogamous marriage with a biological male. It doesn't mean I'm straight, it means that I found the right person. And he's bi-gender, like me. It works out well.

it's not an eternal struggle. really it's not. i couldn't care less about it. I'm still me, I'm still functioning very well, I don't really have a need for it. I'm happy. It's not a burden, it's just something that makes me genetically imperfect.
I don't really mind all that much. It's not really an obstacle, and it doesn't really affect my life. Certain things just happen. I could opt for stem cell treatment for certain things like OCD and Aspergers', but just dealing with them is easier. My life is normal, and I can function well, so why bother with treatment of any kind?

The only problem is that gas is about $4 a gallon, and muscle cars guzzle that shit. Unless someone can find a way to make muscle cars more gas efficient, I won't be able to have one. I'm broke. A few friends and I would be able to build it from the ground up if we had the right parts, but unless we can figure how to make it use less gas, it's pointless.
I'm sorry. I get so defensive because I've gotten so much shit about it from everyone. Not only people at my former college (I'm transferring), but my family too. My parents disowned me for it, and my side of the family hates me, except my grandparents.
I honestly don't know. That's the problem. There are too many people on this website. Like, I hate all the racist posts, and the religious posts, and the sexist posts, but a majority of all the newer people on here find it funny. I just hate them. Not the posts themselves, but all the people who keep making them.
