I was a Catholic Schoolboy but started having doubts in the 6th grade, now a Deist.. From all of the teachings, if you are a good person you will go to heaven, if you are a bad person you go to hell. It never says if you are not catholic you will go to hell. It never says if you are not religious you go to hell. You can be atheist and still be moral. This being said, being good goes under the 'good person' clause ergo heaven if such a place were existing.

In another view, if God were ever loving and made every individual and whatnot, he would design all people to go to heaven regardless of choices made in life unless he were a major cunt. A mother wouldn't drop a newborn in a fire unless they were fucked up. That's the kind of thought that made me doubt along with... others' zealotry.

Look up Pascal's Wager. As an atheist I would rather live my life not based entirely on a "what if". To me that's just like "What if I get hit by a car today? Better stay home all day everyday."

I respect your opinion, but I'm an atheist and the reason being is that I can't believe in something for the supposed benefit of doing so, it seems selfish and I would be living a lie because that's not what I truly believe in... To be honest I feel like it's morally wrong
