At least I have a job, although it's not a dream job
User avatar #299 - xxELITExx (08/10/2013) [-]
lol most jobs are not dream jobs until you get out of college bro. what do you do now?

I do assistant work and cleaning at a small mechanics and electronics firm. It's definitely not the worst thing, but it's exhausting for one who've been in school for over 13 years and done nothing much else. I make a nice bit of money though c:

that doesnt sound too bad at all. I have been trying to get into a computer tech type of place because Im really good with them. but i need a damn degree before anyone even considers.
User avatar #303 - Kairyuka (08/10/2013) [-]
It's not bad, it's just very mentally exhausting. Soon we'll have to work double time (8-22) to fix up a big order. Well after that order I probably won't have the job anymore, so I'm not complaining. And I've gotten a good friend there :3
User avatar #306 - xxELITExx (08/10/2013) [-]
mentally exhausting is not that big of an issue either. I used to work in a kitchen. cooking over a 400 degree grill is not fun for 8 hours lol
User avatar #307 - Kairyuka (08/10/2013) [-]
It's more the fact that there's a lot of practical things I don't know yet, that people some times assume I know. And some times I have no idea what I'm supposed to do, so I start assembling things and then someone gets mad because I didn't think to dust the lamps or some shit like that.
User avatar #304 - xxELITExx (08/10/2013) [-]
nice. nice. i made a lot of good friends at my last job, but since we all worked there and it was under staffed we would all get fucked if we had a big event that we all wanted to attend. wouldnt mind working double time either. more $$$

Some times when the boss is in a good mood we get high-quality food like cafe burgers or something for lunch. It's quite nice.
Downside is that it's not always very legal, like the fact that we don't get bonus for overtime. But we can always discuss if we'd like a day or two off or something. But sitting and assembling things is really fun, it's very much me

all my friends come to me to fix their electronics. careful with solder though. rosin core is usually 60/40 tin/lead. fumes are poison. the shit is a cold saw?
User avatar #318 - Kairyuka (08/10/2013) [-]
I know the fumes are bad, we have suction, don't worry ;D
And the cold saw is a big round saw with a liquid cooling system. It's used for sawing through various metals. It always sounds like something's wrong and it's filled with water and metal shavings ;-;
