Where is Chrome limited to 720p? Nearly every video allows 1080p 60fps if the uploader has recorded at that quality.

You know immigration doesn't solve the problem of the crisis we're facing today, it just putting off to be dealt with another day BECAUSE THEY'RE REFUGEES.
There is a fine line to walk here really.

There's muslim countries not torn apart by war where they would fit in better instead of sending them half way across the world to the USA
#78 - anon (09/11/2016) [-]
Except the vast majority of muslim countries that are considered "non-war zones" don't accept refugees, and fund terrorist groups to destabalize the shit out of the other ones.

Name one. Just one where they would receive fair treatment.

Those are reserved for the Hajj, they are for people making the pilgrimage to stay in so they do not die of dehydration and heat stroke while fulfilling their religious duties.

Whats wrong with bringing them here? We have better healthcare, education, and opportunities for them and their families. Why shouldn't we share what we have with others?

With a name like yours, you seem to be lacking. Yes it sucks over there, but why spend all that money to take that many people here? They will be getting free food, free healthcare, free education, practical immunity to punishment, and will never have to lift a finger. All the while we have a serious homeless problem and a seriously high national debt? Who is going to pay for all of these people to receive care higher than most actual citizens can afford? They would use tax money, which then in turn take even more from the actual people. Higher taxes mean there will likely be more people on welfare since so much of their money goes into taxes. With more people on welfare, taxes increase even more.

You want to blow all that money on refugees when we have enough problems here as it is? It's not even an investment. We wouldn't even be getting a dime in return. If your username is "logicalreason", I'd damn well expect you to not let emotion cloud basic logic.

Although, if I didn't know any better I'd just assume you were a troll.

You are suffering from a common delusion. What makes you think they will not be accountable under the law? What makes you think that they would get better benefits than citizens? What makes you think they wont have to find jobs? What makes you think they would get free educations? None of this is true. If you research the topic you will find that welfare programs are administered by the individual states and not the US Federal government, and most states wont give any public assistance to people without jobs unless they have young children. Even those who do not require at least part time employment offer very little in actual "cash" assistance.

You speak of an investment, and I think it would be a very good investment, in bringing these people here. Consider the real returns. A large population of people grateful for their rescue get jobs, become part of the community, and send their children to college. These students graduate college and go to work for American businesses and the American government; they become doctors, nurses, IT professionals, programmers, engineers and anything else you can think of. They will raise children and those children will hear stories from their grandparents about how bad things were before the American people saved them from nearly certain death in the old country. Then they will hear stories of how they came here and found a life better than they knew was possible. These children raise children of their own, and these children hear the same stories, and like all other groups of immigrants that came to be accepted in America they will be proud to be American. I cant think of a better possible return on our investment.

As far as your feeble attempts at insulting me go; What am I a fucking Vulcan? I let emotion influence my reasoning because I'm not a god damned robot.

San Bernadino and Orlando were both perpetrated by natural born American citizens.

Who were influenced by islamic refugees.
#76 - logicalreason (09/11/2016) [-]
Islamist extremists. There is no evidence that they ever had any contact with any refugees. When Timothy McVeigh blew up the OKC Federal Building nobody blamed Christianity. These are nutjobs using a religion to hide their psychopathy.

It disgusts me when people put the safety of their own people at risk in an attempt to aid those who despise everything about you and your country.
If thousands of jews were screaming death to the west, burn america, and beating the shit out of women for not wearing a fucking trash bag 24/7, then yeah, I'd start a holocaust 2, electric boogaloo.
#67 - logicalreason (09/11/2016) [-]
No you wouldn't. You would hide behind a keyboard and complain about it, but you wouldn't actually get off of your ass to do anything about it.

Since you brought up WW2... The people that fled our country back then, fled to a place where they could regroup and fight alongside the Allies against the nazis. Where are the Syrian Immigrant Divisions?
#70 - logicalreason (09/11/2016) [-]
What refugess divisions during WW2 are you talking about? The polish ones? The Ukrainian ones? The Norwegian ones?

#49 - asshatmcgeealpha (09/11/2016) [-]
It's not that we are denying refugees, but a lot of opportunistic assholes are using Syria's situation to effortlessly move into western countries expecting royal treatment. Also, don't forget violence and culture shock.

Also: most of these people are men. Not women and children, but far more commonly adult males.

This is not a normal refugee scenario AT ALL.
#119 - anon (09/12/2016) [-]
the ones coming to the US are almost exclusively families with 3 or more kids often a couple that are adopted.

I get Europe is kinda Fucked with millions of randoms, but 10k here is just a drop in the bucket

#120 - asshatmcgeealpha (09/12/2016) [-]
Agreed. If these people are actual refugees, vetted properly, and willing to respect their temporary (or maybe even permanent) home, then I don't see any problem.

What I'm against is opening the floodgates to whoever pops up demanding welfare benefits while cursing the nations giving them said benefits.
