And again, if we count lies of omission as lies then it's impossible not to lie. You're always choosing what to tell people and what not to--based on how relevant it is to them, how it might effect them, etc. If nothing else, you don't have time to tell everyone you meet everything you know that might be relevant to them. There are plenty of things that skirt in the gray area, not just because of how it would make them feel, but because it's not necessarily something you would ever have said to them in the first place even if you *were* being honest.
User avatar #124 - xsnowbanex (12/28/2014) [-]

if your girl asks you if she looks fat in a dress, and she actually does look fat in that dress, i wont say "yes you do" but rather "baby you know i love you no matter how you look (i only say that if i really mean it though)

You guys are missing the point here. I'm not saying when we should lie or when we shouldn't. Lying is necessary sometimes. But that doesn't mean that omitting the truth isn't lying

User avatar #70 - penileburglar (12/28/2014) [-]
I get what you're saying, but it's not really that simple, you always have to choose what you do and don't tell people (you can't tell everyone everything.) You don't need to tell every ugly person that they're ugly and every stupid person that they're stupid--it's all about what you're choosing to withhold and why you're choosing to do so. Not telling your wife that you think her make-up choice today makes her look ugly? That's probably for the best. Not telling her that you're cheating on her? That's selfish and malicious.
User avatar #106 - xsnowbanex (12/28/2014) [-]
Well yeah, I didn't say it was morally correct. I know you SHOULDN'T tell your wife that her make-up is god awful, but if she asks and you don't tell her, that is still lying. You are right, omitting the truth can be so much better for you and its a nicer thing to do; but it's still the same as lying.
User avatar #120 - penileburglar (12/28/2014) [-]

It's cool. Well, at your convenience I would go there and get some wood. They usually have a section that is just full of small, specialty woods of different colors and grains. Ebony, bloodwood and . Buy which ever color(s) suit your fancy, get a coping saw, sandpaper of 100, 300, and 600 grit then. The rest of the stuff you need is probably just sitting around. So, now that you've got all this stuff Ill break down the process with this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8ccr8sPQ_w It is almost identical to how I make my rings. Keep in mind, that going as fast as you can and not taking your time will make a shitty product. Thats basically it. Your first ring will not be perfect so don't be discouraged. I had exactly 0 experience with rings 3 weeks before I made that nice orange and purple one. Invest in good sandpaper because that will take up 70% of the process.
If you have any other questions I can help with, just ask.
