It hasnt gotten worse tho it has gotten better, unemployment is at 7.9% right now as we speak. We have to understand that coming in doesnt mean you can just change the direction of the downswing of the economy, instead you have to try and decrease the severity of the fall which he did. Having said that though it is still going to fall because you cant just shift it all in a day or a month or even a year.

Also fun fact: FDR had an unemployment rate of over 14% for 7 straight years. Terrible president? not quite, it was sorta the whole great depression thing. There are a lot of factors for this information that needs to be looked at
#285 - xmegustax (11/04/2012) [-]
I'm aware of that fact and at the pace we (The US) are at now we could end up in another Great Depression with unemployment rates like that
User avatar #255 - DrBobsPatient (11/04/2012) [-]
hey that's bull shit! he's a great speaker and a nice guy so that's impossible!

User avatar #309 - cullenatorguy (11/04/2012) [-]
OR! or he isn't the best president in history and anyone who thought he would be is fucking retarded. He made mistakes, big ones, but he's gotten the economy back on a path to recovery, ended one war that we've been in for the past 11 years, is in the process of ending another, killed the man responsible for 9/11, created over a million jobs (not enough though), and avoided a second great depression.

Going back to Bush policies will kill the economy. Romney hasn't given any specifics as to how he'll fix the economy. He leaves his dog on top of his car roof for a several hour long drive. He can't even treat an animal correctly, how can I trust him to treat me right? Much less an entire country?
#448 - jakegiggs (11/04/2012) [-]
These kind of arguments are how you lose credibilty. How is the dog comment even relevant? I am for Obama look at my comments but this is not the way to go about it
User avatar #462 - cullenatorguy (11/04/2012) [-]
It states why I can't trust to him to handle the U.S. It was more of closing argument than anything.
User avatar #313 - DrBobsPatient (11/04/2012) [-]
1. Obama made the market worse by increasing the debt
2. The job market GOT worse since he's been president (it was even better during the bush kim jongistration)
3. He may have ended one war, but put our troops into more countries, potentially starting more.
4. Navy seals are protesting in anger stating he didn't do shit. The only thing he did was say "ok" after listening to the military
5. Created a million jobs yes, but also destroyed roughly 12 million
6. Bush actually helped this country out, he might have been a retard, but he did kept this nation stable.
User avatar #323 - cullenatorguy (11/04/2012) [-]
I'm not going to spend the time formulating a counter argument, so just read this:
pleasecutthecrap.typepad.com/main/what-has-obama-done-since-january-20-20 09.html

>helped country out
Yep, bringing us down into a recession and starting two massive illegal wars is definitely helping us out. Obama had to bring in more debt in an attempt to fix what Bush broke.
User avatar #330 - DrBobsPatient (11/04/2012) [-]
Well I think it'd be best for our country and our allies to fight to remove majority of the taliban seeing as how they attacked us and our allies multiple times over the years.

Obama has only done small stuff, any president could do that. What we need is someone who actually wants to improve this nation, get it fixed, and get us going in a positive path. Obama has failed to do so in four years, and I don't think he could do anything positive if given another four.
User avatar #337 - cullenatorguy (11/04/2012) [-]
Romney is treating running the U.S. like it's a business. That is not way to do things. He says he enjoys firing people, has shipped thousands of jobs over seas, and is a flip-flopping fuck who can't get is facts straight or even decide if he's pro-life or pro-choice. We're not going to do well no matter who gets elected, I just think Obama will do his best and in an honest way.
User avatar #351 - DrBobsPatient (11/04/2012) [-]
i'd rather have jobs in other countries helping the community than allowing immigrants here to work for their own country, under their own rule (chinese in idaho).

Politics is business. Why else do you think people care about debt, deficit, importing/exporting, economy, etc. so much? America is indeed going in a shit hole right now, but I'd rather have a successful shit hole than a broke shit hole.

And it's irritating, majority of left winged people only get their romney information from colbert/stewart, or a lot of biased media. I mean 65% of media is liberal, so the only way to truly get what they're saying you need to follow both candidates instead of watching and hearing what other people translate.
User avatar #456 - cullenatorguy (11/04/2012) [-]
People working here work for the U.S. Everyone pays income tax. I get my information from watching both candidates. Obama is a much more honest man and actually gives details on how he plans on getting things done.
User avatar #479 - DrBobsPatient (11/04/2012) [-]
Uh huh. How exactly does he do that?

Not true, China is in the process of buying land in Idaho for China.

That's good that he has a plan. Too bad he hasn't done any of that during his first four years when our nation has only gone down the drain more than it has in the last 70 years. Also, I'm wondering what he's done to help the bankrupt cities.

I don't feel like really doing a ton of research just for you to prove my point on an internet argument. I'm done, it's your job as a voter to do the research needed on how he has fixed the economy. I'm sure there's a good article out there on how he actually has helped the nation.
User avatar #522 - DrBobsPatient (11/04/2012) [-]
what i do know is that since obama has been in office:
-the national debt increased by 60%
-there's been a 25% increase of people on food stamps
-Cities have gone bankrupt
-12 million people have lost their jobs

All big issues that i think one should fix, not ignore.
#253 - jakegiggs (11/04/2012) [-]
coming in during a recession has a tendency to do that
#259 - xmegustax (11/04/2012) [-]
I understand that and he did bring change like he said, bad to worse is still a change. I get that Bush left him with a shitty economy but it has become so much worse under Obama, we need someone else.
#269 - jakegiggs (11/04/2012) [-]

increasing taxes on everyone only makes it worse.
#265 - jakegiggs (11/04/2012) [-]
I dont fully agree with this statement but that is a valid point. The problem is that raising taxes is sort of a requirement now. We are in too much debt to not raise them. we have to lower the national debt and stabilize the economy somehow, and in my opinion Romney's plan just doesnt seem to actually be able to address the issue. Also his social platform is straight out of the fucking 1950's
User avatar #270 - DrBobsPatient (11/04/2012) [-]
well no shit we're too much in debt. Obama increased our national debt by 60% in 4 years.

Romney's plan is to export more and import less, as a result our country could actually make money instead of borrowing it.

His social platform works. It's better than the "socialist" perspective where the rich become poor and the poor become poorer.
#284 - jakegiggs (11/04/2012) [-]
Thats not what a social platform is, im talking about his positions on women's rights, gay rights, etc.
User avatar #289 - DrBobsPatient (11/04/2012) [-]
he's in favor of having church programs choose what they want. If a christian health clinic doesn't want to offer abortions because they think it's religiously wrong then they can't. He won't have government force them to perform them. Same goes to gays, he's not going to force churches to provide same sex marriages if they don't want to.
#297 - jakegiggs (11/04/2012) [-]
He isnt talking about churches tho, he is talking about government not issuing marriages to them and companies with christian owners not having to provide health care to people for certain things because they dont believe in it. Its more severe than just protecting the churches
User avatar #303 - DrBobsPatient (11/04/2012) [-]
Christian based companies, not because of the owners.

He's talking about not letting it be a national thing, yes, but he's wanting states to decide whether or not they will allow gay marriage to occur. He's making it so each state has equal rights to decide what they want instead of having one man (the president) be in charge of state laws without question or perspective from that states point of view.
