That is just one of the many resin 3d printers I was talking about, they simply use a dlp projector and a glass bottomed tank, the build plate pushes down into the resin almost touching the glass, the projector projects the image for that layer which cures the resin only along the lines of the projected image. The build plate moves up until the last ayer of resin is a fraction a millimeter above the glass then the projector fires again and this process repeats to form a 3D object.

These printers are awesome because they cure an entire layer instantly wheras a conventional extrusion based 3d printer has to '"draw" each layer more slowly. Also since you are using light to cure a resin you have much much finer control over what cures and what doesn't meaning you can produce models like those above quickly and easily.
