I never heard of welfare(government anyway) actually drug testing before....

There is a church run kinda welfare thing where I live they do drug testing and try and find people who fail help. Really they do a lot of good shit like that. Not a big fan of religious stuff and all that but I have great respect for the people in that church ever since they stared doing the stuff they do there is been massive change for the better in that area of the city. It's really nice to see a ghetto become a better place.

www.nytimes.com/2013/10/26/us/state-drug-tests-for-public-aid-recipients-have-limited-effect.html?_r=0

to sum it up it cost most states more to do the tests then it would if they had just payed out the welfare to people who test positive

I'll believe what you say as you posted a link to a paper.... but I am not creating an account to read that....

I honestly feel that all of welfare needs to be changed. There is so many unworthy people on it.... by that I mean people who don't need it people who could live just fine with out it.

odd it let me read it as it sorry about that if i knew it was log it i would have tried to find something else. but it was less any opinion on welfare and more a they have in fact tried what was being talked about. as far as welfare it goes i think it is designed to be cheaper prison.i say this because the people who need it cant be on it and really be on a road to a better future at the same time. so it basically is enough money to keep them from saying fuck it i will just ( insert poverty based crime here). at least in my area most people who are not lying about welfare dont get what they would need to be able to save to go back to school or just about any other real self improvements with out it being a massive personal risk that might leave them in massive dept, frankly why risk it when your at this point already.

To be fair, don't the people on drugs have to first make the sober decision to do drugs? It kinda is a choice. Either that or I seem to have a good immune system and haven't caught a case of this drug addiction disease yet.

I will say though, that everyone who truly wants help to improve themselves, should get it.
User avatar #123 - sparkyoneonetwo (11/14/2013) [-]
well if you do drug test them and they fail the test that is a great opportunity to try and help them find help to kick the addictions.

User avatar #124 - xjessicaxrabbitx (11/14/2013) [-]
Except they don't. They just kick them off welfare and possibly charge them.

Yea I can see how it implies that and I agree that is totally the wrong mental approach. Unfortunately it seems these days everyone has a 'what's in it for me?' attitude. If I can push someone toward doing the right thing, even if they do it for the wrong reasons, I still see that as an improvement over not doing the right thing at all.

Nah. Dudes don't give a fuck in the loo. I would have doubts that even ten women can beat one man in the bacteria battle.

The more people the more bacteria. Contrary to popular belief showering daily doesn't rid you of bacteria. It just moves bacteria from one spot of your body to another. And having a penis doesn't magically generate more.

I'm 18. Going to community college like the poor person I am. I'm going for secondary teaching, aka high school, and American history. I spend a lot of time online or reading.

I don't think you can marry a minor. At least no legally.

All figured out? I'm very indecisive.
