Becuase in TLA it shows how poeple were not able to bend AT ALL before they learned from the animals. so your explanation only makes sense if there is a large gap were everyone forgot how to bend.

When did they ever SHOW that people weren't able to bend prior to being taught by the animals?

They only said that the animals taught them, there is still room for the lion turtles in that vaguely told story from TLA.

in the story of those earthbending lovers, it calls them the FIRST earth-benders. First as in, the very first people to earthbend.

That's a legend. But yeah, that's sort of a contradiction to Wan's story. You shouldn't let such tiny things bother you.

look, its a bloody plot hole, "using your imagination" is just your excuse for trying to justify somthing that blatantly isnt compatible properly with TLA lore. The problem is that in LoK it shows people only being able to bend after being given it by loin turtles, and instanly after they could bend to some degree, however in TLA people couldnt bend at all when they learned from the animals and moon (fucking moon meaning we cant just say animals). So if you think about it that means people must have forgotten how to bend entirely, since they had the ability but couldnt do it and then eventually learned from the animals and the moon. but then we can either assume the avatar couldnt bend during that time, or the avatar was the only bender. if LoK lore of true it would mean for a long time people had the inate ability to bend but could not bend until they learend from the animals and moon, but that must have been a LONG time since its gotta be ages for them to forget they can bend. now, i dont know about you but forgetting you have the power over and element doesnt seem like somthing you would forget.

except in TLA it says humans learned the ability from the animals, before that they had no ability. its still a plot hole.

It's not a plot hole. They were given the ability by the turtles, but learned how to properly use it from animals (and by watching the moon). Also, do you expect the people in ATL's time to know how the humans acquired their 10 000 years ago? The Lion Turtles disappeared and the humans probably forgot them to an extent. Also, people nowadays have been accustomed to getting everything spoon-fed to them. Sometimes people need to use their imagination and fill in the blanks on their own. This ain't that big of a plot hole! In my opinion it isn't a plot hole at all.

He desires chaos. The leaders are merely an obstacle.

Some of you people would probably go down to the level of 'He desires to have oygen in his lungs' to try and prove your pointless point.
