BUT NORWAY HAD/HAS A LOT OF OTHER OIL. its not like there was no oil before norway got those areas..

Norway actually got the oil by letting the US search for oil in the North sea, and when they found it we basically just said: "Nope! Our waters, our oil, fuck off."

Some norwegians who didn't want to lose their land to Sweden got them drunk while they were making the border between Norway and Sweden, then they made them go east, securing Norway a huge chunk of land.
