Oh you mean the meal that I paid for myself?
User avatar
#173 - workinprogress (11/30/2013) [-]
Yes.
You paid for it, but I am the one breaking my back, destroying my knees, losing feeling in my hands, to grow corn and soy beans; the main food stuffs to raise nearly all manner of livestock. I raise sheep and cattle to supply you with all your beef and lamb product you enjoy so much.
Vegetarian? Well, a farmer raised all your precious veggies too.
Only eat organic? THOSE farmers work 2-3 times harder because they have to use physical pest control methods since pesticides cant be used.
I could go on but I don't think I could get through to you anyways....

No, you fixed it for poor people.
A hard working adult should have money.

I AM a "hard working adult". It's accurate.
You're may be wondering,"how can he have no money?" Well, the problem is that I have what is called an honor code. Most people these days don't know what that is. Let's just say that I work hard everyday to put food on everyone ELSE'S table while taking a little money away to try to make more food and start the whole thing again.

Did you enjoy your meal you had earlier today? YOU'RE WELCOME!!

Psssst.
There's an infinite number of universes out there (because there's no limits to infinity so any fraction of it can equal infinity, just no a completely over-lapping instance of infinity) that want you dead, burned, erased from existence, raped, et cetera or one or more of the above. There are infinite universes out there that exist to kill you. Not some alternate-universe version of you, but your aware, physical, breathing self that reads this message. And, let me give you a little secret: a lot of them are breaking the technology barrier to actually reach and destroy you. Some seek to do it very quickly, some seek to rip you apart fiber by fiber, and some don't really care as long as the job is done.
Fret not though, because there is also an infinite number of universes that exist for the sole to be your personal guardian against this threat. You see, each time one of those malicious universes breaks through, another universe expends all of its equal power to stop them from hurting, did you forget, you?!

You are protected by the mightiest of forces that you as a mortal can comprehend, with infinite universes trying, and succeeding, at stopping the annihilation of everything you know and snuffing your life.

Sleep well tonight.

You're saying this as if it's a proven fact.
I like the theory too, but I know that it very well may not be true.

#243 - rebornpooper (10/23/2013) [-]
If the multiverse is true, than an infinite amount of universes exists. If that is true, then an infinite number of universal combinations exists. If an infinite number of universes exists, the odds that these infinite combinations occur is in my favor because there is no limit to the amount of trials for testing. To prove otherwise would have to prove that all of the infinite universes are homogenous or risk some sort of imposed control outside of material scope.

Philosophy is fun.

No, what I mean is that there might not be any other universes other than us. and what the guy below said is also true.
User avatar
#242 - iluvnutella (10/23/2013) [-]
but if there are an infinite number of universes, all having every possibility that can ever occur, then wouldn't that mean that the possibility that there is no other universes is true in some weird way?
User avatar
#249 - rebornpooper (10/24/2013) [-]
The possibility that no other universe exists is applied outside of the scope of a single universe (though termed in respect to one universe). By this application, it can not be applied to every instance of the universe that exists, and thus is not applied to every universe when the law requires it to be so. If the universe requires an illegal law to exist, then it would be impossible. Note in my original post when I said "possible" combinations, as in legal combinations of events that happen within the scope of the universe.
