Personally because I work as a stocker at a major Walmart in Utah/Utah county, We rarely have enough time to sort and organize the non-essentials we are understaffed by 3-5 people at the moment and it causes us not to get to non-essentials. If we have the spare time and 1( Aisles are thrown and zoned 2( Action alleys are taken care of 3(Everything is good 4(Get to stuff that may need work, example a dump bin of candy. For me personally in an hour I can almost get through a full pallet of freight, mediumish items, that's valuable time we can't waste otherwise.

Not quite the answer you were looking for, but when I worked at a pizza place we had a grated shelf for dishes to dry on, and I did dishes all the time, so I developed a habit of being really methodical about which dishes went where and how long they dried for and how they were placed and arranged. Never got any complaints, but my boss would often come through and flip them around to her liking, or just put them away before they were dried much even though she was anal about even slightly damp dishes being put away . Once, a couple days before a health inspector was expected, she decided that literally EVERY dish in the building needed to be cleaned spotless. At the time, it was just the two of us working that shift, something like a saturday morning, and I had the span of roughly 2 hours to get it all done and most dishes took an hour or two to dry . My biggest problem was that the drying shelf was only a few feet across, so I could only fit a couple rounds of dishes on at a time, which meant most stuff was backed up for a very long time, being tossed just about where ever they would fit. It was usually an easy job, but I was slowly being scheduled less and less, and I really felt like business was declining compared to when I started. Pretty glad I left, I don't miss it much.

Yep. I think it looks dumb and filthy. I'm glad as fuck I avoided all that shit, especially when I hear about how hard it is to quit.
