2. internet connection isn't everywhere. in fact, its quite shitty in many places in america. Lets say you are lucky and have internet. Then lets say your internet goes out, but your power is on. Your internet could be out for days, and you can't play a single player game you payed for with your own fucking money.

I don't really understand how the kinect sensor is a problem, are you worried microsoft is going to turn into skynet? The box comes with the kinect, so it is to no extra cost for the customer, plus if you are that terrified of being on camera, you can unplug the kinect when you are not using the xbox. The internet connection thing is silly, hell it's outright stupid, but it's not hard to use the built in Wifi to connect every 24 hours. Unless you don't have Wifi, but in that case, why are you looking to buying a $500 entertainment device?

Here's the thing though about the online requirement:

Do you ever play any of your old consoles? Maybe ones that have long since stopped being supported by the developers?

Because as soon as Microsoft is done with the xbone they'll turn off the servers, meaning it'll become little more than an overly expensive blu-ray player.

Also, because they don't care about backwards compatibility any more, all your games will be worthless, and you'll never be able to play them again unless they re-release them on the xbox two, where you'll presumably have to pay for them again (only to lose them and buy them again when they release the next console after that).

No. When they first came out thye had a 91% chance of breaking. I got one at day one. It caught fire.

I suppose I got incredibly lucky, I got mine for Christmas the year it came out, and it worked for a couple years, until it red ringed, I sent it in and got a new one that works to this day.

Thank you very much, After reading a bit, I see where the concern is. I don't see a need to share a game with more than 10 friends, but I don't have many friends, maybe some of you popular fellas do. The way I see it, it's like buying a game on steam, but you can't go log in on anyone's computer and download it, only a certain 10 friends. That is a shame. The retailers and developers decide if you can trade in your games or use used games, and I doubt a game company will make the mistake of making that not an option. As for the constant connectivity, that is not preferable, but isn't going to kill me, seeing as I have internet in my house and my xbox is always connected anyway, it's a shame I won't be able to take it on the road however.
