I get your point, and I should clarify: It's not the diversity and quantity alone, but that the concept of "Catching them all" amounts to literally nothing anymore, and you can only get most pokemon in their one specific game. Have a favorite pokemon? Well, sucks to be you, you can only get it in (X) game and have to transfer it over if you really like it.

That's also something I really liked about gen 2, you could go back to Kanto and access all the pokemon.

If you're referring to the last panel: it is possible. Wealth isn't necessarily a zero-sum game, in the sense that one person has to become poorer in order for someone else to become wealthier. Everyone talks about getting "a slice of the pie", but what they often forget is that the pie itself can get bigger. And I'd keep writing, but I've gotten too distracted by the idea of an inflating pie.

I understand that, really this post was not serious, though if it comes down to it, it could be viewed as either economically impossible or economically possible, depending on how you look at it.

If you look at utility, then what it comes down to is that the average quality of life is increasing, in which case yeah, people are getting "wealthier" day by day because of an increase in quality of life. Regarding things like GDP, real GDP is going up worldwide which is also an indicator of increasing average wealth, which is entirely possible.

When it comes down to strictly monetary wealth on a worldwide scale, then wealth is generally gained at someone else's expense.
