I am not suggesting you change your personality for a guy, it would make everything fall apart when you finally started acting like yourself, or if you continue living a lie you would be miserable.

I am just saying that men dont normally view women initially as good candidates for friends, and so unless you met through a group and slowly started hanging out together, chances are if he makes time to spend with you he wouldnt mind being more than friends. This isnt always the case, but maybe be a bit more flirty, pause extra close to him possibly with your lips near his from time to time. Either he might get the hint or might not be into you after all.

This is not directed to you.
This is directed to the men of this site.
If you had a friend, a good friend, and they approached you with the proposition of sex that would not change your relationship into anything further, would you do it?

Inb4 - Not if she's ugly (she is already a friend at this point, chances are she is not so grotesque that you are not physically attracted to her in some sense)
- Not if it changes anything (it does not, it simply adds sex, as since the girl is already in the friendzone, you treat her like a girlfriend without the physical boons)
- Not if I was in a relationship (I am not asking if you would cheat, I am asking if you, as a single man would become a friend with benefits)

Hopefully this will clear some things up for willowroe

men dont generally make friends with girls they arent interested in. I mean sometimes sure, but more likely he is too afraid to do anything and thinks he is in the friendzone. unless you are the big "funny girl" who acts like one of the guys and tries to minimize her femininity. Then yes you might be friendzoned.
User avatar #25 - willowrose (07/12/2013) [-]
hmmmm...interesting! I am funny and not very girly but I can be sometimes. I am very blunt and honest and most of my friends are guys. I guess it may be because I refuse to change who I am just to get a guy to like me. I hate that fake shit...interesting perspective though. Thanks

I'm going to try and break down why this comment isn't chalk-full of green thumbs The words "strong and independent" aren't really that popular with men these days. It's not sexism, it's just that these words seem to carry an association with the sort of women who take yank us around and are exactly what this post describes. Secondly, the idea that this could happen to us is scary, we try to avoid it if we can. A man who gets stuck in a relationship like that is one who didn't see it coming. If this is why you're left alone, it might be because you give off the wrong vibe from the get-go.

Finally, I don't think victimizing and describing yourself so highly is generally well respected.

If you're who you say you are, you're a woman a lot of men I know would love to be with, but it could have been approached from a different angle.
#20 - anonymous (07/12/2013) [-]
No it's because you are ugly.

not really, america drinks more guinness. and has the bigger st. patrick parades. and has more potatos. and he should be drinking putchìn while holdng a massive morgage paper
User avatar #459 - rieskimo (07/13/2013) [-]
Of course we(Americans) drink more Guinness than the Irish and have more potatoes and celebrate St. Patrick's day more than the Irish.

We have more potatoes because we have a shitload more land mass, we drink more Guinness because we are a population of about 300,000,000 and Ireland is a population of about 4,570,000. We celebrate St. Patrick's day more because a)early Americans were fucking ASSHOLES to the Irish(in early America to be Irish was to be a nigger. Seriously we had signs that said "No niggers, no dogs, and NO IRISH". I'm not agreeing with that sentiment) so the Irish population stepped up their game and were all "Fuck you, we're Irish and we fucking ROCK" which is essentially what has happened with every fucking migrant population since(you'd figure we'd have learned this by now) and b) because America is the land of the bandwagon jumper, we are fucking great at that shit.

tl;dr America Fuck Yeah!
User avatar #471 - timmity (07/13/2013) [-]
ye dye rivers green. seriously. why. and, america is pretty meh in my opinion, i prefer japan or canada. but if a good job pops up in america, i guess i`d move there.... if i had to.
User avatar #474 - rieskimo (07/13/2013) [-]
I think is America is great for it's destinations, and the population as a whole I'd say are generally warm(as long as you're not in a scummy part obviously). Honestly, I think America is great for vacationing(if you have the sheckles of course) but it isn't the best to live in.

We're a bunch of contrarian cunts that like to complain about things but never actually do anything to change them. We are ADD as a population and it is very easy to divert our attention away from important matters to trivial matters. Our medical sector is scary to say the best. Our educational sector could actually be scarier than our medical. We don't have any real view on the rest of the world, and most people don't care to even attempt at one.

We're a young country with a lot of potential, but we're squandering it away mostly on stupid shit that doesn't matter. I don't hate America, I actually really do love my country. But I wouldn't say we are for everyone. I'm not fooling myself into thinking we're the best or even all that good of a country to live in. But I'm confident I'm not going any time soon, I'd say go to Canada. They seem to be like a less assholish version of us.
User avatar #477 - timmity (07/13/2013) [-]
i want to become president, just to make america better, using 3 easy steps to make everything better AND lower taxes. 1. fuck the military budget, we don`t fucking need all that shit, cut it down to 60%, still more than the rest of the world combined. 2. with all that fucking cash floating around, make the medical and education sectors bloom using scientificly proven teachiung methods and revolutionary new medicines. 3. the military budget is so fuckiung big righht now, even if we did that, we would have spare cash, give it to the people for public works and new parks `n stuff.. we can do all this a still lower tax rates, and if we can we can slowly trim down the military budget to 20% and still have the biggest in the world
User avatar #481 - rieskimo (07/13/2013) [-]
If our "Defense" budget was 20% of what it is now it would be second largest in the world. In fact; though our military budget is huge, it doesn't account for that much percentage(it's about 9-14% of GDP I think). Our military is stressed because that's really the only way anybody IN our country gets money as well as that's the only thing that we're really exporting. So, sorry to poke holes in your theory but I think your plan would be more detrimental to our country than helpful.

Our medical sciences aren't bad, I believe they're some of the best in the world actually. The sciences aren't a problem in this country, we can treat just about everything. Hell, we could practically keep most people living until 100... IF you have enough cash. That's where our medical industry is hurting right now. Our insurance sector and our medical sector are in this constant battle of how much something costs vs. how much something is worth. So the medical sector wants to sell a pill for $100 but the insurance sector will only pay $40 for it, so then the medical sector will then start saying that the pill is worth $250. That just goes up and up and up, which leaves a person without insurance completely fucked if they ever need to buy that pill on their own because they can't afford an insurance policy that will cover it. That's really just a hint of the fuckery that's going on with medicine.
Our educational sector is constantly plagued with all sorts of shit like interest rates on student loans for college, or the clashes with teachers unions for public schools, or how to pay teachers and what to base their performance on... that's a clusterfuck road I don't want to go down.

Really when it comes down to it, I feel that the largest problem with our country is kind of a two part problem.
User avatar #482 - rieskimo (07/13/2013) [-]
Problem 1: We don't vote for people who actually care about the issues that matter, we don't do that because the largest voting population is generally in the 45-65 year old range and the politicians only pay attention to certain key issues that matter to them(like social care policies)

Problem 2: Our political environment is so filled with cronyism and bullshit it's not even funny. Politicians who care about subjects that mattered are pressured against acting on them so they don't piss off "the opposing team"(Democrats and Republicans constantly are bitch fighting) and they try to make deals with the opposing teams by caving on certain issues. Furthermore politicians are woo'd by lobbyists(paid representatives for corporations with enough money) and so essentially votes are bought and paid for by large corporations and companies, either by lobbyists or by the fact that the companies get in with nepotism(they're owned by the politician or the politician is a heavily invested associate).

In the end, the people that laws are meant to protect and serve aren't really for them. The citizens are really an afterthought in most of the processes when it comes to taxation or law.
