Ivalice is beautiful. Arriving at Ogir-Yensa/Nam-Yensa and entering Giruvegan were probably two of my favourite moments in a RPG.
The eerie stillness of the water, the mist shining in the air and the ring of fire in the sky, that was beautiful.

Character development wise, FF12 was perhaps the worst. But I think that gives it a certain charm. I like the idea of never knowing exactly what happened in Balthier and Fran's past and if they are a thing or just partners though picture related seem to be the answer to that question

It's really weird that the most uninteresting characters in the game were the protagonists I like Penelo a lot, but she just wasn't very interesting. She was really bland even for FF12 standards
I was about to turn off the console and drop out on FF12 until these two showed up.

i can understand that feeling. i mean vaan was as bland as they could be, penelo was always making me think "uh, there she goes." and such. ashe was alwaso pretty dull, i can remember his name, but the guy you save from the prison was a little bit cool. but it was all carried by Balthier and fran.

Same here, but so far it was a hit for me. The text is not very boring, mostly entertaining (except for the religious scribbles, those bore me and I just skip them. They're mostly just legends I know anyways). Also I love how you get to these terminals sometimes and you actually interact with them. Answer questions, engage into actual conversations.

Oh man, I'm actually playing it atm. Dat ost mang.

And pretty close to what I'm studying too. Multimedia and internet technologies.

that sounds pretty cool, i think the worse for story though is when im just not interested at all. like stone faced, not interest, then its a skip fest for me. but that sounds cool.

The only flaw I see with the game so far is the story telling. It might be boring for others, because it lacks memorable characters (except for the God and a computer) and most of the story is revealed through journal logs and emails.

That's sounds pretty awesome. The only consoles I have is a broken xbox and a DS lel.

yeah, i can understand how some people would dislike that. for me it can be a hit of miss. depending on how into the game i am.
i hate broken consoles, its like "i paid so much for you, and you dont even work!"

and the DS has some great hidden gems on it, not alot of high quality stuff. but if you can find a copy of the world ends with you, be prepared for a great game.

and i am studying game design, i want to be able to make my own games in the future, or at least help people make their games more awesome

Well, tbh, puzzles are better, there are more tools to use and even more levels. The scenery is not limited by a white laboratory, but instead takes place in islands, jungles, snowy mountains and even deserts.
Story wise, I think they're both equal, but I still haven't finished Talos, so let's see, if the end doesn't dissapoint me, Talos might even have a better story. It's deep as fuck and constatly makes me contemplate my existance. Portal was more humorous, while as humor is a lot more scarce in Talos.

Oh damn nigga, das a lot of consoles.

whoa there homie. portal was really amazing, thats one big hurdle that talos principle must have jumped to be better than that.

and ps2, i got every console except atari 2600, 5200, coleco vision, sega master system, and xbone.
User avatar #14 - tsuyu (04/02/2015) [-]
Well, tbh, puzzles are better, there are more tools to use and even more levels. The scenery is not limited by a white laboratory, but instead takes place in islands, jungles, snowy mountains and even deserts.
Story wise, I think they're both equal, but I still haven't finished Talos, so let's see, if the end doesn't dissapoint me, Talos might even have a better story. It's deep as fuck and constatly makes me contemplate my existance. Portal was more humorous, while as humor is a lot more scarce in Talos.

Oh damn nigga, das a lot of consoles.
User avatar #15 - willord (04/02/2015) [-]
dam, man, that does sound really badass. but yeah, a really shitty ending can really kill it for some games. well not kill it, but def bump my opinion of a game down.

and yeah, been collecting them since i was little, and i know a place where i get them cheap. wont be able to collect any more for a while though. just had to pay off a huge debt with college, and i dont even have my associates yet.
User avatar #16 - tsuyu (04/02/2015) [-]
The only flaw I see with the game so far is the story telling. It might be boring for others, because it lacks memorable characters (except for the God and a computer) and most of the story is revealed through journal logs and emails.

That's sounds pretty awesome. The only consoles I have is a broken xbox and a DS lel.

Damn, what are you studying?
#17 - willord (04/02/2015) [-]
yeah, i can understand how some people would dislike that. for me it can be a hit of miss. depending on how into the game i am.
i hate broken consoles, its like "i paid so much for you, and you dont even work!"

and the DS has some great hidden gems on it, not alot of high quality stuff. but if you can find a copy of the world ends with you, be prepared for a great game.

and i am studying game design, i want to be able to make my own games in the future, or at least help people make their games more awesome
User avatar #18 - tsuyu (04/02/2015) [-]
Same here, but so far it was a hit for me. The text is not very boring, mostly entertaining (except for the religious scribbles, those bore me and I just skip them. They're mostly just legends I know anyways). Also I love how you get to these terminals sometimes and you actually interact with them. Answer questions, engage into actual conversations.

Oh man, I'm actually playing it atm. Dat ost mang.

Oh shit, das pretty awesome.
And pretty close to what I'm studying too. Multimedia and internet technologies.
User avatar #19 - willord (04/02/2015) [-]
that sounds pretty cool, i think the worse for story though is when im just not interested at all. like stone faced, not interest, then its a skip fest for me. but that sounds cool.

and i know man, thats squeenix for you. they might fuck up really bad sometimes, but when they hit the nail on the head, they pound that nail so hard.

lol, they actually give me alot of class for multimedia in my program. which are usually the more fun classes. how far are you into your degree man?
User avatar #20 - tsuyu (04/02/2015) [-]
yeah, I feel you. This game actually has a pretty interesting story.

Also been playing a damn lot of Phoenix Wright, gotta love dose games.

two of my friends play phoenix wright, that and professor layton get endless praise from them.

User avatar #22 - tsuyu (04/02/2015) [-]
Been trying to play a bit of Layton, but I keep getting distracted by Phoenix Wright.

Oh, damn. When are you going to finish it now?
User avatar #23 - willord (04/02/2015) [-]
maybe you should try out that cross over game they made, might get you in layton.

well, for now, im just going to try to find a decent paying job that doesnt have me waking up and hating everything. then when i get that, its back to school time for me. i also applied for a job at blizzard about half a week ago. getting that job would be like a dream come true for me
User avatar #24 - tsuyu (04/02/2015) [-]
Oh, they did a crossover game? Didnt know that lel

Damn niggy, hope you get it!
