George zimmerman IS innocent. Doesn't a NOT GUILTY Verdict mean anything to you ffs

he doesn't "deserve" anything because he has committed no crime, as decided by a court of law.

I'm sorry but the court of law is broken, I'm glad I live in Australia because no one would get away with that shit.

Even if he was guilty after someone has served their sentence they're supposed to be back on the same level as us because as I remember it serving a sentence is not only a punishment but also a redemption. By serving the sentence you have redeemed yourself. George Zimmerman wasn't proven guilty so he has nothing to redeem himself for.

Although i am on the Zimmerman side of things, innocent and not guilty are two different verdicts in court, not 1 in the same as you have just implied.

he's not innocent, no one who has killed a man is not innocent. he might have done nothing illegal, but that doesn't change the fact that he killed a man, even if it was for self defense

Look at this and consider it: www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread959413/pg1

I'm gonna admit it I'm not sure exactly what happened but Zimmerman from what limited knowledge I have was probably supposed to be guilty. Also, may you please tell me in detail exactly what happened and why he was proven innocent even though there was a goddamn bullet in the guy's head. thank you in advance

#352 - brenton (08/06/2013) [-]
*Chest. And he was essentially found not guilty because there was enough evidence to suggest that Martin was on top of him, slamming his head into the cement. Then and only then did Zimmerman pull out his gun and shoot. If that truly was the case, then it really was self defense, because it only takes a few head-cement bashings to kill a man.

To be fair Ojay Simpson got a not guilty verdict so there is that. But i agree that he is innocent.

Because the court of law is infallible, and has always made the right choice, and has never let a guilty man go, or convicted an innocent man.

Zimmerman accosted that kid without any reason.

Everyone could've gone home to give their little brother his Skittles if Zimmerman hadn't.

All of this because Zimmerman decided he would be the fucken Hero protecting his neighborhood from evil black kids.

Fuck Zimmerman.
#221 - anon (08/06/2013) [-]
So you'll trust a system you think is corrupt to convict someone but not to exonerate them? Sound like you're just a biased asshole.

And Zimmerman didn't "accost" anyone, there were no physical injuries on treyvon other than the bullet would while zimmerman had multiple injuries.

Oh yes Zimmerman the evil tyrant for trying to keep his neighborhood from becoming a shithole, that bastard!

Fuck you.
#175 - anon (08/06/2013) [-]
A bit of a common misunderstanding in the first sentence.
George Zimmerman is NOT innocent. He pulled the trigger and shot Trayvon. However, he IS not guilty, which means that under the law he has been determined to not be responsible for Trayvon's death. Like you said in your second sentence, the crime of murder was not committed.
#185 - anon (08/06/2013) [-]
No, sorry, you don't have even a basic understanding of the justice system. All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent UNTIL proven guilty. If their guilt is not or cannot be proven, the initial presumption of their innocence stands. So while a "not guilty" verdict is not written as "innocent," but since someone who is "not guilty" of a crime of which their innocence is initially presumed, they are therefore innocent by the letter of the law.
#164 - maicheri (08/06/2013) [-]
He still followed a kid around a dark neighborhood after being told not to by police, then shot the kid when confronted.

Doesn't matter if Zimmerman was found innocent, he's still a massive douchebag that millions of people honestly despise.

#56 - CXJokerXD (08/06/2013) [-]
Yeah, because that's always right. You can't place trust and acceptance into a corrupt system. Now I'm not saying it's corrupt because of letting him off, but to let him off so easy after his actions is bullshit at least. The justice system has a history of picking favorites and ignoring certain elements. He should have stayed in his vehicle as instructed by the police. To go against that and have the result being the taking of a life is unacceptable. Despite him getting his ass whopped (as deserved for following and confronting the boy), he is not justified. His choice of actions led to him killing a boy in "self defense" instead of letting the police handle the situation. The bottom line is that he took actions into his own hands against the advisement of law enforcement, things got out of control, and he killed someone who was kicking his ass because of racial profiling.

The threats are wrong and those doing them are pathetic shits who dare claim to be under god. He has been in the public eye enough to where he will be paying for his action for the rest of his life. He can never forget what happened and people won't let him sit with it either. I don't give a fuck about him enough to wish him harm. If he deserves it, karma will give it to him in my eyes.

Whether the system is flawed or not is an entirely different matter.

But you can't Attack or threaten to kill a man who is found NOT GUILTY of any crime, just because you think the verdict was wrong. This is what lawyers and retrials and appeals are for. Vigilante action based on personal beliefs is antithesis to democratic legal process.

And the legal system does not exist to serve angry mobs, no matter how loud they shout.
#79 - anon (08/06/2013) [-]
The police didn't instruct him to do anything. DISPATCH (which has no authority for the record) recommended that he stop following Trayvon, but as head of the neighborhood watch, Zimmerman proceeded to continue doing his community-elected duty. And how did he deserve to be beaten? Again, he was doing his job as a member of the neighborhood watch, and as far as evidence indicates, did not initiate the fight.

Finally, there was no racial profiling. If you listen to the unedited police call he made, instead of the one the media latched on to, he couldn't actually determine the race when asked, hesitated, then guessed "black." The media then clipped out the dispatch asking him to give a race, and slapped that on to his description of Trayvon, to make it sell more, because racism is edgy.

Do your fucking research, instead of blindly following the sensationalist media, you ignorant twat.

Personally, I think Zimmerman's innocent, but by that logic, OJ Simpson never killed anybody.
#153 - anon (08/06/2013) [-]
OJ was guilty. I don't remember the details, but I believe he lost a civil suit as opposed to a criminal case. Zimmerman was not guilty on all charges.
#167 - maicheri (08/06/2013) [-]
Zimmerman can still go to a civil court and will probably lose, just as OJ.
#192 - anon (08/06/2013) [-]
They're not going to risk a civil trial, because then Zimmerman would be able to easily counter-sue for the character assassination that the media put him through, in part due to the Martin family and certain members of the government.
#10 - anon (08/05/2013) [-]
Just because a court determines someone to be guilty/not guilty, does not mean that they are. The court's decision is based on evidence, so sometimes innocent people are locked up and sometimes guilty people get away with their crime. Someone can be very obviously guilty, but without evidence they cannot be convicted.
User avatar
#232 - baaltomekk (08/06/2013) [-]
On the contrary. If a court determines someone to be guilty/not guilty, it totaly means they are.
And if you attack someone because you feel someone is guilty but was determined not guilty, you are the criminal and should (and most likely will) be put to jail.
#11 - anon (08/05/2013) [-]
Also, I forgot to mention that I don't have an opinion as to whether this guy is guilty or not. My comment wasn't directed towards this guy and this case directly, just the court in general.

#7 - anon (08/05/2013) [-]
Why do you believe the innocent should suffer because of a mistake someone else did? You remind me of my cousin. She said "This nurse sucks, I hope her grandma gets a really bad nurse one day too." What the blistering fuck did the grandma do to deserve torment? What did Zimmerman's family do to deserve getting the shit kicked out of them? And no, I'm not black or a smelly hippie.
