I think you wanted to type that the other way around. You're saying that the cost of living increase is going to go up more than the increase in minimum wage, which would be worse for everybody. Which i should note isn't what i'm saying, i'm saying that the amount stuff is going to go up things are going to be roughly the same for the ones who work for minimum wage.

How will it make anything better for the average person? If anything it'ff make things worse. They get the cost of living increases without the benefit or at least as much of a pay increase as those working for minimum. Though really i don't see it affecting them much either way.

You're under the assumption that the relationship between minimum wage and the average cost of living is both mutually exclusive and linear. Neither of which is true.
More than just the minimum wage affects the cost of living. The relationship between cost of living and the minimum wage do not move linearly. If they did, then our current minimum wage would be slightly over $10.00/hour.
I don't have the time or energy to give you a full economics lesson, but you're assumptions are wrong, and you would know that if you ever sat through the first 20 minutes of your first macroeconomics lecture.
We have seen, over and over and over again, that minimum wage doesn't directly effect everyday costs.
In 2010, I could walk from my high school to the Sonic across the street and order a #1 with no lettuce, tots, and a dr pepper to drink. The total came out to JUST UNDER $5. I know that, because I went to Sonic every single Thursday and Friday to grab lunch between classes ending and working at my uncle's nursery, and used a single $5 to pay for my meal.
Now, in 2015, when I go to sonic, I have to pay $7.19 for a #1 with tots and a dr pepper. The last time the minimum wage was changed was in 2009. There has been NO CHANGE in minimum wage since 2009, but prices have gone up since 2010? According to you, minimum wage changes the price of the dollar and NOTHING ELSE, right? Then explain how prices have continually risen? If you say "Well, other things effect the cost of living too!!" then you can't only blame minimum wage for higher prices, and therefore cannot attribute higher prices solely to the minimum wage.
TL;DR - minimum wage ISN'T the only factor of higher prices, and it ISN'T the reason FOR higher prices. When you realize that, or, again, take any economic class ever you can have a legitimate conversation about minimum wage. Until then, shut up and sit down, all you're doing is spewing ignorance.

As would the price of things being raised. And how do i have to prove it? Just go from an area with one minimal wage to another with a different minimal wage. Doesn't take a genius to see that when people make more money, stores charge more. Went to Florida, which has a minimal wage which is about a dollar or two lower than mine and everything was so cheap I thought some kind of special sale was going on.

Because everywhere I go I see it. Especially in food. Something that costs five dollars here costs a dollar in places with lower minimum wage. On the other end of the scale I go places and they charge twice as much when the minimum wage is just a dollar higher. I'm sure there are other factors but minimum wage is definitely one.

When more people have money, corporations can justify increasing prices.
The bad effects do not outweigh the good ones, though, as people can on average afford a lot more food because of the increase in minimum wage.
You not benefiting from it shouldn't be your main concern when you think it through, it should be the effect on the country as a whole, more money circulating = good.
This forces money to circulate on lower-end products, aka, the important ones, instead of going to things like yachts, which will never benefit you.
sure food COULD go up in price a little (however price cielings could be enacted to stop this) are you really going to keel over because of it?

If i thought food prices would only go up a little, i wouldn't be concerned. But what i've seen if a couple dollars difference makes them halve or double the price than making it $15, which is roughly twice of what my area is now, than it's going to go up way more than a little. If that turns out not to be the case, than i'd love it because i'd be one of those benefiting from it.
#85 - chuca (13 hours ago) [-]
Maybe that's a factor, but like i said they had higher minimum wages too. And i should note not all the differences are as extreme as i said, those are just the worst offenders. Also differences in minimum wage usually aren't even a dollar. Of course $15 is a lot more than any state has as it's current minimum. I find it hard to believe that stores aren't going to be jacking their prices, especially in the lower income areas, when people are making nearly or more than twice as much.
#87 - chuca (13 hours ago) [-]
I don't see what else it could be, besides maybe taxes. And i never stumble into areas that charge more despite having lower minimum wages, except maybe high income areas which aren't affected by what the minimum wage is. This supports my assumption though that where there is more money, people charge more.
