Swastikas aren't as negative in Asia as they are in Europe. Usually they are the other way around, (turning to the left), meaning peace. The map of the first Zelda was actually shaped like a swastika.

The more popularized swastika that the Nazi party used while under Adolf's rule was a symbol derived from the twin lightning bolts, which Adolf also used. The lightning bolts meant "Valor, honor." And when crossed they were to be the symbol for a person who embodied these two things. But again, Adolf was the first to take the Germanic swastika and tilt it, in order to set it as being unique.
